  • - Collection of Various Poems
    av Viktoriia Peterson
    161

These poems were written by Viktoriia Peterson over a period of more than 15 years. The author writes in Russian and Ukrainian, then translates her work into English. This book, A Breeze of Inspiration, is divided into five sections. The first consists of poems written on the subject of love. Many of these are dedicated to Viktoriia's husband, Austin Peterson, and reflect upon their courtship. The second section is about Viktoriia's father, Anatoly, who died in 2016. The poems reflect Viktoriia's memories of time with her father as well as nature and the love of fishing they shared. The work expresses deep emotion. For Viktoriia, the loss of her father was devastating, and it remains so to this day. Sometimes, suffering and longing for relatives who have departed for another world causes an emotional eruption that is hard to stop. Viktoria expresses this on paper in the form of poetry. Anatoly will always live in Viktoriia's memory. Of the vast body of work she has produced on the subject of her father, 11 poems are published here. The third section is about the weather, the seasons of the year, and Wyoming and nature. These are perhaps Viktoria's favorite topics to write about. She has written more poems in this genre than any other. The poems in the fourth section address the concept of God. Viktoriia believes deeply in God, and sometimes has prophetic dreams that later come true. One of these miraculous dreams, about God and the Archangel Michael, has been crafted into a poem. The fifth section involves a variety of topics: animals, Viktoriia's grandmother, her mother, and her friends

This time instead of inspired by true love, here are 75 short poems inspired by the love of the holy scriptures; that like true love can create deeply moving emotions within us. Allowing us to love even that which cannot be seen. As a bible enthusiast; especially William Shakespeare's King James version of the bible; though not very religious, have been influenced by its verses. The word when read with interest and love, is life-changing; as we are changed by true love. One does not need religious institutions to develop an intense love and admiration for scripture. And you do not need to believe in a higher power for this book to be of influence; though it might be appreciated more fully with the faith that there is a force greater than us that can deeply impact our lives for the better. That can keep us going even in the worst of times.

The book What Lies Behind Her Smile, is a variety of poems written on love, heartache, forgiveness, passion, family rivalry, abuse, and our society today. J'Naye started writing poetry throughout her childhood when she became a foster child in high school. "I was always the shy girl that was well dressed and had a beautiful smile, but I was afraid to make new friends so I held a lot of things in. Writing became an escape mechanism and a great coping skill through tough situations. I have written over 450 poems in the past seven years, but the ones published and shared with you in this book are ones that really stuck out to me the most and had the most emotion behind them. After having my son four years ago I slowed down in writing and focused on my career and motherhood. But I will never stop being a natural writer."- J'Naye Wise

My book is called Poetry of Love it's basically about everything you go through in your life. Some poems are about love, some about pain and heartache, the things each one of us as humans go through each day of our lives. We experience love when we are with the one we love and share our hopes and dreams with. We also experience sadness and pain from a broken heart and the feelings you feel when you are alone and missing the person you thought will always be there to catch you. So that's what my book is about, different feelings of we go through in each day of our lives.
