David said to God, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works" (Ps. 139:14). He made veins that supply blood, giving life to every part of the body. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood" (Lev. 17:11). The human mind cannot even imagine the power of God's Word and His Spirit. He divided the waters between the earth and the heavens and replenishes the earth by using clouds to distribute water in the form of rain. He opened a path through the Red Sea, and the Israelites walked through it on dry ground. Our God can do abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine. To God be the glory! Othniel E. My book is a collection of memories of an eighty-four old woman who grew up in the 1940s and the 1950s. My family were farmers. My memories are working hard on the farm, warm summer evenings playing with my brothers in the twilight hours, Christmas on the farm with Grandma, Christmas programs at our one room country school. There are some sadness in my childhood but I chose to keep my book focused on happy times and to show the difference between the time I grew up and the way children grow up today. My poems are about family, friends, holidays, spiritual and some that are just silly little verses. Hope you will enjoy the life of this country girl who went to a one room country school with only thirty students and went on to a big city high school with over eight hundred students. Most recently my sculptures were exhibited at the Oscars, Emmys, MTV, and ESPY Award pre-shows. Additionally, one of the high points of my career occurred in 2008 when my sculptures, Unity, was selected to be displayed in the White House. Now the (Unity) sculpture is a permanent art piece in the White House as of 2009. My stone sculptures represent strength, harmony, calmness, and peacefulness to enhance the beauty in life as an inspiration to others to never give up on one's dream. We are often caught up in life asking God for all kinds of things. Do we ever ask God how He's doing? How He spends his day? Grade schooler Annie has questions about God and goes to her mom for guidance. As mom wonders about the answers she will give Annie, she suggests talking to Him about her questions. My husband Monte and I raised two daughters and now have four "breath-taking" grandchildren and two great-grandchildren in Lincoln, Nebraska. I believe God does have a plan for each of us if we seek Him with our whole hearts. My hobbies are being involved in my church through quilting, hospitality committee, women's Bible studies, singing, drawing, and amateur gardening, and of course spending time with a large extended family.
