After you have toured and traveled with me through the many chapters of Wilma, it is my fervent hope that you will challenge yourself to take it a step further and share your gift of writing. Petition yourself and encourage others to write their memoires and lift up and promote the value of family history. To keep the foundation of the family alive and thriving, we dig deep within our roots with varied traditions and legacies, both individual and collected contributions. In our rich culture, we're still writing history, even today. And I encourage you to capture treasured oral and written history, especially from elder family members. Wilma was born in 1939 and spent her childhood in a small rural settlement called Caney Well, Texas (near Clarksville, Texas). This setting was void of paved roads, electricity, indoor plumbing, and bathrooms, compared to the conveniences we enjoy today. She is the product of a mother who was an entrepreneur, a freedom fighter, and a loving family. Wilma took these values and graduated from Langston University earning a bachelor's degree. She later earned master's degrees from Antioch of Ohio and National University of California. She is a passionate angler, entrepreneur, artist, insurance agent, and real estate investor. She has lived in Los Angeles, California where she taught school and mentored teachers in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She is inspired to press for maximizing knowledge and spreading historical contributions of life and history. The major thrust of the book is to inspire others to write their story.

"The Opportunity Lifestyle" is the true story of an amazing journey into success after God told Dr. Hestick, "Opportunity will always be in your future," and kept opening new doors for himself and the members of the "Go Church" at Vreed-en-Hoop in Guyana. Their faith overcomes the struggles of an inadequate portfolio-they lacked resources and were making no progress in acquiring a property-but were catapulted by God's favour into a lifestyle of continuous achievement since then. "The Opportunity Lifestyle" features the principle that God committed to give everyone a breakthrough to fulfill His purpose for their life and Christ paid the price to open that door to destiny for us all. Many people who thrived in opportunity are presented, including Isaac and Rahab in the Bible, Steve Jobs in technology and business, Tom Dungy in the NFL and Harry Persaud, who God elevated from the courtroom to successful building contractor. As God moves Dr. Hestick and team from opportunity breakthrough into opportunity lifestyle, they discover key principles of God's amazing provision for our lives. "The Opportunity Lifestyle" shares those keys with you; learn them to live yours! Dr. Marlon Hestick, a former President, Wesleyan Bible College, Guyana, pioneered and graduated classes from Guyana, the Caribbean, North America and Africa. He leveraged his intercontinental ministry to host Guyana's first Annual International Missions Conference since 2012, for delegates from around the world. CEO of Man-to-Man Ministries, Dr. Hestick contributed to Guyana's national men's policy. He and other international leaders were called upon by the Wesleyan community to write Global Voices, a book on critical issues affecting the church worldwide. Dr. Hestick is married to Marva, an adult educator, and their three children serve with them in the ministry.

A collection of poetry reflecting on themes of faith, family, seasons and life's challenges and victories. The descriptive language provokes the imagination, setting a tone to produce vivid images. The curious rhymes will surprise and delight readers as they move through poems communicating thought and reflection revealing striking sentiments and insight. 1957 I was born in Peekskill, New York. The beginning of my style writing is called simplistic poetry. I began writing at a young age in a children's home called St. Joseph's Village in Rockleigh, New Jersey. It is where my siblings and I lived many years. I am blessed for having been married with two children and grandchildren now. Throughout time the rollercoaster of life events gave way to my simplistic form of writing applied as poetry. It is what I know best in understanding for living and became a form of therapy.

Reminiscent of Bombeck's style, Hoffman once again relates true stories of how everyday situations can go so wrong. Cringe with her as she reveals the stories behind her first date ... laugh as her many dogs conspire against her ... sigh as her Sunday school students come up with the darndest answers ... smile as she tries to communicate with her husband of 40 years. Life is a learning process; Hoffman is a slow learner! "What a crazy, fun story!" Helene Johnsen "Not even to page 10 yet and I'm loving the book!" Holly Homes "Such an awesome writer!" Michelle Serlet was not only my sister but a daughter, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, Mimi, and friend to hundreds of people. Although her journey with ALS was not an easy one, she chose to live "Only Today" and reassign the ALS acronym to write A Love Story that epitomizes all she learned through her illness. Anonymous For God, Is a Holy Spirit inspired story of a young woman with a dream God placed in her heart from an early age, and the body to go with that dream. At the appropriate time our Heroine steps out in faith, leaving the world she knew and embarking on a journey of Worldwide adventures. God had a long-term plan and it started with that first step of faith. The book starts when the heroine is in her early 60's. She's retired and married to a precious Vietnam Vet and assumes God is finished with her exploits. But God is just getting started with Bernice and her husband Leonard. In His infinite wisdom, God's purpose for her when she was a younger woman was for Bernice to have these adventures, so that she would have a foundation of faith, hope, love, forgiveness, and the tenacity to endure through all the events that would be coming in her future. The author of this book is a prophetic intercessor with a background in the fashion world, culinary world, nursing world, and academic world. She has lived behind the scenes of these worlds taking notes. She was once described as so normal she was boring by a psychiatric dr. Obviously she did not mention any of her stories to him. In her words. "I'm just a girl, who loves the Lord." I prefer to remain anonymous and give the glory to my Savior.

This book seeks to help people develop the art of conversation patterned after two key proverbs: "The purpose in a man's mind is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out." "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." Developing the skill of asking questions, and acutally listening, builds a bridge of relationhip that can bear the weight of truth. In so doing, one will win friends, influence people and be able to discuss personal topics and experiences, including areas of personal beliefs and faith. Midwestern raised. Educated as a teacher, and later as a mechanical engineer. Have enjoyed a life-long relationship with my wife, with whom we have raised three amazing children, who, with their spouses, have granted us eleven grandchildren. Retired, but re-purposed starting a company at the age of 65. While in college, discovered the reality of God's desire to adopt those whom He created to be sons and daughters through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ. Mentored through the one-to-one discipling ministry of the Navigators. That training led to the joy of meeting new people, hearing their stories and discovering how my Heavenly Father has been pursuing them though they may not be even aware yet of His pursuit.

I came to know Jesus November 19, 1969 in a little chapel in Southern Ca. I was a typical Southern Ca. kid trying to live out a Hippie existence and be true to my idealistic ideas of Love one another while the U.S. was at war overseas and had its own culture war going on at home. I was searching for something real, true and peaceful. I found it in the person of Jesus like many others in my generation and the Newspapers called it the Jesus Movement. My life with Jesus and the church had many ups and down, victories and defeats. After many years of feeling defeated I began to get up early and spend quiet, prayerful time listening for His voice. Jesus is faithful, He has been there each morning and Manna From My Journey came out of those mornings with the Lover of My Soul. I pastored a small church in Huntington Beach Ca. for many years and worked with the Orange County Rescue Mission as a counselor, pastor and director of a Discipleship Ranch in Warner Springs Ca. After raising all our children I presently live with my wife Leslie in Anza Ca. Leslie is the gift the Lord sent to show me what a life spent in His presence looks like. We are enjoying life, our children and grandchildren and serving as Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel High Country.

No Scars in Heaven is the story of one family's 1000-year journey living and defending Christianity. From being a participant in the first crusade to recapture the Holy city of Jerusalem in the middle east in 1099 to the creation of the Knights Templar in 1114. This family took an oath to serve God that spans generations to the present. When the treasure of Solomon is found and threatened the family takes action to save it with the help of Native Americans, Archangels, and a 13-year-old boy and his dog. This is a story of family, morals, love, faith, friendship, history, courage, devotion, and mystery. Born in the small rural town of Berea Ohio in 1950, R.A. Basset's early years were mostly solitary. His favorite companions were his set of figures of Knights of the Round Table. He learned from a young age about their Code of Honor. This led to his being a part of the Scouting program for 23 years working to instill the importance of the Scout Laws and Oath in young men. He was schooled in Ohio and joined the USAF as an OSI Special Agent during the Vietnam Conflict. Upon his discharge, he went into sales for various companies with great success. In 1994 while a member of his Chamber of Commerce he saw a need. He started a publishing business with the launch of a non-profit newspaper called "The Volunteer" whose mission was to support other local non-profits by publishing their current events along with related news and editorials some of which were picked up by national papers. He has always believed from a very young age in the importance of God in our lives and the values that give meaning and worth to one's life. It is this belief and stories from his family's history that led him to write "No Scars in Heaven" and is currently working on his next book, a biblical romance.

LIVE LIVES OF PURPOSE AND SUBSTANCE In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the Lord told me, "I'm going to show up big this year!" How so I thought? The world is a mess! But in late December, a divine appointment at a wedding occurred where a lady I didn't know said that I would write a book about raising boys confirming what the Lord had already put on my heart. As I began writing this book my heart shifted from raising boys to that of challenging dads. Early through my manuscript the word "DADVOTED" was revealed to me and not only the book, but brand DADVOTED was formed. My heart for this book is to challenge all dads regardless of what stage they find themselves in faith and fatherhood to evaluate their priorities and redirect where needed to fully live out their purpose as a dad, husband and leader. KEVIN GOODNIGHT resides in the suburbs of Houston with his wife Keeli, their two boys Keaton (12) and Kort (10), their dog Zoey and bunny Simba. They met their freshman year at Baylor University and lived in Sacramento for eight years before moving back to Texas in 2013. Kevin has made his career in the flooring business in various leadership capacities and is currently the General Manager of Redi Carpet in Stafford, TX. In 2020, Kevin's journaling turned into a calling to write, which morphed into a focus and passion for challenging Dads. The brand and LLC DADVOTED was created in 2022 and this book will be his first published piece, though he is currently working on two other writing projects. You can learn more by searching DADVOTED on all major social media sites or by going to www.dadvoted.com.

"Jesus never gave up on me, even throughout all my stubbornness. He freed me from my life of darkness and brought me into His light."Those who have experienced abuse, neglect, and addiction encounter dark times in life when it seems impossible to ever find healing. Yet God always has a way of delivering His children from the darkness to His ever-embracing light.Ruby Sue can testify to such a deliverance as she endured abuse, neglect, and addiction for most of her life. Beginning in her childhood, the neglect and mental abuse inflicted on her by her parents affected her psychological development to the point where she was scared to speak or act like a normal child. Longing for love, but not finding it, she turned to meth, crack cocaine, and weed in her teenage years to suppress her anxiety and experience temporary happiness. Life continued to be cruel as she married a narcissistic man and endured an over twenty-year abusive relationship with him. Praying for salvation to deliver her and her children from danger, she turned to God and found deliverance. From darkness to Light is the raw and inspiring account of Sue's journey of deliverance from the abuse, neglect, and addiction that threatened to claim her life. Her story reveals how during a time of complete darkness living far, far away from God, He still found her, poured out His faithfulness onto her, and showed her His love, goodness, and power. Now, she lives in the light, giving Him glory for everything He has done for her. To anyone who has been or is in the same situation Sue was, God loves and cares about you more than you can fathom. Be encouraged to receive hope and find it in Jesus, the one true hope, during dark times.

The Bible is a book of blood. From beginning to end, the Scriptures repeatedly tell us stories of blood and of a God who is worshiped with blood. Have you ever wondered why blood is so important and why God required it? In his book Blood Atonement, author Mel Harness will take you through many portions of the Bible to help you understand the blood trail that goes from Earth into Heaven. When Jesus took bread and said, "This is my body given for you," He then made a distinction with the cup when He said, "This is my blood in the new covenant poured out for you." Understanding the difference between Christ's death and His atonement is key to understanding how the first covenant was amended with a new covenant. When Christ died and offered His blood for sin as a High Priest in Heaven, He covered all sin for all time with one sacrifice for all who come to Him in faith. Blood Atonement will guide you into a deeper knowledge of forgiveness! Mel Harness and his wife Darla have served churches for forty years with their teaching and encouragement of God's saints. They enjoy a large family and gardening in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. You can learn more about Mel's books at melharness.com.

Religion: The names and doctrines may differ, but the damage done is the same. Mind control, Brainwashing, greed, abuse of power, fear tactics, lies, sexual misconduct, and mental and emotional abuse. Many of these religious institutions' main goal is to fill their pockets using the Bible as their weapon of choice. This is not indicative of all religions, but there are many, especially mega-churches, that preach and teach falsehoods. These falsehoods have been the downfall of many families and friends and the cause of many ruined lives. Friendships that have been forged over years will cease to exist, brothers and sisters, parents and children, husbands, and wives. Simply because a spiritual leader has declared that those friends and family members could no longer be fellowshipped. Could the eyes of people, young and old alike, see and understand that they are not here to serve a man, but rather God? My story began in Jamaica, immigrated to England, and landed in the USA. Having lived in several countries, I take interest in meeting new people and learning about their country of origin. Knowing one's culture provides a better understanding and fosters respect. Though not a native of this great country, I appreciate the diversity and freedom that it offers (having served in the US Army). Coming from humble beginnings, I feel so grateful for what God has blessed me with: a beautiful wife, three beautiful girls, and five grandchildren (all girls). I have had the privilege of being a pastor, assistant pastor, and held various positions within different church bodies over the years. I received a Master of Science degree in Information Technology and taught college for approximately fifteen years. It is my wish that people will understand and recognize who their God really is.

Questions, questions, questions. Is there no end to the questions? Answers can be obtained, but only when we ask the one who knows-that, of course, is God. God's word is a treasure of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, all of which belong to, and proceed from him. Having questions of his own, teacher and author Ronald Lovins looked not only into what the Bible says, but why. His findings resulted in a unique, practical guide regarding God's wisdom, how the world works, and how we can best instill this knowledge into our lives. Are the natural and spiritual lives of humans separate or intertwined? What is the basis of the inner conflicts we experience? How can we become overcomers of sin in our lives? What is the difference between judgment and consequences? A promise and a principle? Is wisdom enough or do we need God's grace to live successfully? How can we understand how life works? Lovins examined and answered these questions and more to the best of his human knowledge, revealing that when we study these answers and learn how God intended for His creation to work, we are more able to order our lives in a way that creates a flow of blessings only God can provide. Ronald Lovins is a husband, father, and grandfather. Oh, yes, and a pastor. He spent 25 years in South Dakota where he and his wife Julianne founded one church (Huron) and served as pastor of two others (Sioux Falls and Rapid City). During that time, he served in various district leadership positions, ultimately becoming district superintendent, a position he held for eight years. He currently serves as pastor in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

This book contains two parts: Part 1 states the doctrinal claims of the Roman Catholic Church from her own authorized records. These claims are compared to scripture and history of the early church as a test for accuracy. Part 2 examines the image of Revelation 17 & 18, the woman, seated on the awful beast. Her remarkable, doubtless identification as well as her stunning role in history provides vital insight into the future. She is presented in scripture as a most major and prophetic character. To ignore this woman's role is equivalent to ignoring God's warning. Hopefully, Catholics will have the courage to carefully examine the evidence presented. Born in 1941, Rich, a well rooted Christian early in life, had an interest but limited knowledge of Catholicism through conversations with Catholic relatives and friends. Having received a college scholarship in music subsequently became a professional musician "on the road" for several years. Upon returning home to New Jersey he met the love of his life and married in 1966. He then was able to establish an accounting practice lasting about 18 years. He unexpectedly entered the residential home building business lasting about 21 years. In the meantime he served his church as youth pastor and elder as well as conducting studies of religious cults and Catholicism before moving to Indiana. There, he became active in his church and served in the church praise band. Throughout many decades one of his great passions has been the study of Catholicism. This book is the product of those studies.
