  • - Allowing the dark times of life to bring forth your purpose
    av H G Franklin
    250,-

Darkness is defined as the partialor total absence of light.Darkness can be the ever-present feelingof being sad and without hopeSo why does God allow it?Perceptions of darkness have always been negative. So how can one perceive that embracing the darkness would be positive? H.G. Franklin is a prime example of using this approach in his life. Franklin gives a synopsis of a time of darkness during his life. He explains how he felt that God should have delivered him from this darkness - after all, he had been faithful, and he had a relationship with God. Why would God allow bad times, sad times, and all things negative (DARKNESS) to invade your life? H.G. Franklin gives personal testimony of how he found freedom through his embrace. He uses real-life examples and parallels his "darkness" to those who experienced darkness in the Bible, such as Joseph and Job. This book is encouraging and easy to read. However, it will challenge your present definition and perception of darkness. The author gives a refreshing account of how God took him through this process. Continue to read and allow this book to help you see the light that can be found in darkness. H.G. Franklin II is a native of Kansas City, MO. He is a loving fiancé, father and son, which he credits for his determination and perseverance. Having grown up in the church and sitting under the leadership of some great men of God, his passion for ministry was birthed early in life. He admits that he made choices in life that lead to various life lessons, some of which might have made others crumble. H.G. decided to Embrace those dark places in his life and allow them to become part of his purpose.

So often when we study the Word of God, or as we call it, the Bible, we continue to revisit those familiar passages, drama, and portrayals that we have become accustomed to over the years. While it is good to repeat them it also subjects us to taking them for granted. When I introduce a new believer to the Bible, I suggest the believer begins to read the Gospel of John first and they read it for seven times. The first time they read it just as it is without stopping to digest the words or meanings. However, each time they repeat the reading they take time to better understand what they have read more so than the previous time until they are now beginning to see the whole picture of the book with the flow of the coming life, living life and giving life of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. They then can better understand who He was, who He is and who He will remain to be. His coming, His living, His death, His resurrection and His ever being our advocate and presiding Savior for all of eternity. Dewey Painter is a retired Naval Office and currently serving in the U.S. Airforce Auxiliary as Chaplain Lt. Colonel CAP National Headquarters Chaplain Recruiting Committee. Executive Director South East American Indian Council and CEO Mission Harvest America, past Chancellor or President of 4 colleges and University. Work has a bigger purpose for Christians than just earning money or meeting the temporal needs of people. There is a connection between what we do and what God wants done in the world. There is a misconception that Christians sometimes have that working in "full-time ministry" (as a pastor, missionary, or church worker, etc.) is the only way to make their work lives count in serving God. Yet, God uses us in different work roles to meet needs, acting as an extension of His provision for His creation. With this knowledge that our working lives are our ministry no matter what our vocation, readers can begin to look for opportunities to be used by God and receive a rejuvenation in purpose and calling. The Value of Work in the Eyes of God focuses on the theology of work and the connection between work and faith, discussing how the Lord uses our working lives as our ministry. The book covers a deep analysis of several areas: review of literature dealing with "theology of work," historical views and attitudes toward work, scriptural data related to work, and practical ways to incorporate faith with work. DOUGLAS E. WOOLLEY earned four university degrees in the areas of Computer Science and Theology. He currently works for JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Software Engineer, after having worked for Verizon for many years as a Systems Engineer. Since early 2018, he serves as the International Secretary for the Full Gospel Business Men''s Fellowship International (FGBMFI). As a senior in high school, Doug placed among the top in the USA in mathematics, computer programming, and science. He is an international speaker, teacher, and author. Doug resides in Tampa, Florida, USA with his wife Marsha and poodle Napoleon.

av Ted F West Ph D
    380,-

Have you ever been ridiculed for your belief in the "fairy tales" of the Bible?Have you ever had your skepticism of scriptural credibility spurned by "But it''s in the Bible"?Have you ever had your faith challenged by articulate atheists?Have you ever been flummoxed by questions about your Christianity or the Bible?Have you ever been confused by the biblical and scientific accounts of creation? In Evidence That Dispels Doubt, Ted F. West presents a life-changing preponderance of evidence for the historicity of the Bible. He provides a compelling examination of the evidence for the truth of the Bible and Christianity, including archeological findings, documented historical literature, fulfilled prophecies, and statistical probabilities. This book will:ΓÇó Convince skeptics of the reliability of the BibleΓÇó Guide believers to fortify and articulate their faithΓÇó Give Christians the facts they need to defend God''s WordΓÇó Afford believers and nonbelievers a deeper understanding of the origins of the universeΓÇó Clarify the compatibility of the biblical and scientific accounts of creationTimely and significant, this book brings truth to a culture that is often hostile to Christian thought. Whether you are a believer, a seeker, or a skeptic, you will be convinced that the Christian message is true. Ted F. West is a lifelong Christian, an avid Bible-reader, and an ardent believer in the relevance of the Scriptures in our lives today. His life experience as both a committed Christian and a trained scientist have led him to seek to reconcile his belief in the Bible as the Word of God with his belief in the laws of science. He holds an undergraduate degree in biology, a master''s degree in business administration, and doctoral degrees in nutrition and naturopathic medicine. He lives with his wife in South Georgia.

  • - Relatable knowledge for the New Believer
    av Penny Kirksey
    256,-

This book was written out of my heart''s desire to understand the why and wherefore of the common practices of Christianity. Although this book is written for the new believer, it is also a refresher for the person who has forgotten the reasons why we do...what we do.Many of the characteristics of the Church are not addressed as to its origin.Thereby, the New Believers often are missing out on the essential knowledge of why we need for such actions. In overlooking these precepts, we thereby miss the enabling power and meaning of trademarks of the belief system. But it is important that we all understand the need for the concepts in the Word. Why do we baptize? Why do we take communion? This book explores the possibilities of Christian terms and how that they relate to the believer of Jesus Christ. Also, there are testimonies that will remind you of the love of Jesus Christ. These testimonies are taken from a people who, just like you, found that God met them in their lives. It is my hope that this will be a tool that leads the reader into possibilities which await the children of a Mighty God. Author Penny Kirksey lives in Tupelo, MS. as a wife, mother and grandmother. Having served in many areas of the church over the last forty years, Penny ministers primarily as a Prophetic Intercessor. It was her curiosity of the expected traditions of the church that caused her to spend time researching the purposes of the terms and foundations of the Christian belief system.

Dear parents, I wrote this book to share my knowledge to you and children thirteen years old and older to help them navigate through life. In fact, this book will benefit parents and children from generation to generation. I just want to make sure that they don't make the same mistake as we did as parents. We need to tell them the truth and set a good example by doing what is right. We need to teach them the word of God. We need to take great care of them by loving, appreciating, respecting and supporting them. We need to teach them what life is about. So, our kids can achieve a better life. Children, if you read this book and you follow at least twenty five percent of the book. You probably will achieve a better life for you and your future family. I just want you to know that, the easy way doesn't mean it is the right way. The world is yours and no one can take it from you as long as you do things right. You need to understand that nothing is impossible in life unless you make it that way. Try your best to do things the right way and remember every choice has a consequence, good or bad. Parents and children, I suggest you read all this book and try to follow as much as you can to achieve a better life. Thank you My name is Hubert Severe. I'm Haitian. I have been here for twenty years. I worked in laundry facilities as a manager in Florida for over 15 years and now, I'm working as a delivery service in New York. • - Addressing Everyday Challenges from a Biblical Perspective
    av Raul N Wallace
    250,-

In his book, Milk for Babes, Strong Meat for Grown-Ups, Raul N. Wallace highlights a plurality of life's ups and downs and carefully examines them from a Biblical perspective. He invites readers to take, drink, and eat to their heart's content of the Word of God that is shared within its pages. Readers will find very little commentary on Scriptures presented on account of the author's belief that what God's Word has to say about life's challenges far outweighs whatever minuscule input he has to contribute. Regardless of where readers fall along the spectrum of spiritual growth and maturity, they will sense an invisible presence of someone letting them know they are not alone. If readers are babes in Christ, they will find spiritual milk. If they are mature believers, they will find spiritual meat. "Through a unique book of spiritual teaching and biblical insight, the author shares truth from God's Word that will inspire and motivate believers to grow in their spiritual lives, whether they are new believers or seasoned followers of the faith. With excellent wisdom, encouragement for daily life, and revelatory advice, Milk for Babes, Strong Meat for Grown-Ups is a powerful collection of practical and spiritual steps for Christians to grow in their relationship with God." Editor, Salem Author Services "I truly enjoyed reading Milk for Babes, Strong Meat for Grown-Ups. I love the way it flows as an everyday conversation. The Scriptures substantiate each topic. I love the repetition method of "Have a drink or take a bite" and "Pause-Listen-Reflect." It allows readers to identify whether to drink milk or eat meat, and possibly see where they are in their Christian walk. I also enjoyed the old adages incorporated with the slangs of the day." Claire's World is a story about a young woman who feels her life has become repetitious with no real meaning. When a young farm hand enters her life, she finds herself torn between what she knows is right and what her heart wants. It shows how hard life was on the farm in the late 1800's and how making just cents a day could keep a family fed and taxes paid. When families worked together all benefited, and how forgiveness can free lives and mend hearts. I was born in a small town in Pennsylvania, where I live today. I am in my fifties and have Four beautiful daughters, and four wonderful sons-n-laws and a supporting man in my life. I'm a Chef, and I love to cook and bake. God will give you Beauty for Ashes! Everyone has a story. However, I would like to share with you of how Jesus Christ transformed my life from a lifestyle of hopelessness, despair, and defeat to a lifestyle of hope, faith and victory in Christ. I was traveling down a destructive path, searching for love, peace, rest, contentment, satisfaction, and fulfillment in all of the wrong relationships and things. Then one day, I met the Lover of my soul, and He restored my soul. I found out that I was trying to fill a void in my heart and soul that only God could fulfill. "In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God; He heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears" (Psalm 18:6). God gave me "beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness" (Isaiah 61:3a). Vernell graduated from the Baltimore School of the Bible June 5, 2006. She is a licensed minister, and she received her credentials under the Worship Center Ministers Network on July 21, 2010. A journey indicates a long way to go. When grief spirals us out of control, it cannot be dealt with immediately to completion. Each layer allows us to go on to the next. There are no normal or typical days. When your mind is full and needs relief, each chapter allows you to be interactive and ease your busy mind. Living in the present is a daunting reality. Accepting total peace is attainable. Our faith can become tangible and we must rely on that alone to survive. When we feel our story and our strength are ours alone, we discredit God 's power working in our lives. The Lord creates a void in our lives, to be filled by Him alone. We are able to survive beyond our grief. The healing heart of a grief survivor heals a little more upon opening up to a newly grieving heart. Our brokenness is not a death sentence or a punishment. Brokenness is meant for the glory of God, for when we are weak our God is strong. Janet Davis Adams was blessed to be the daughter of a theology professor and pastor, Dr. Don Davis and mother, Lavona Davis. After the sudden death of her husband, she earned a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology and Christian Counseling at Louisiana Baptist University. She lives in the idyllic mountain town of Dahlonega, Georgia. She serves on the Women's Ministry Committee and teaches a women's class at Dahlonega Baptist Church. Her daughter Amber, son in law Jonathan and granddaughter Piper, live close by.

  • - A Conversation with God About Prayer Studies in Habakkuk
av Jr Allen & Dr Byron
    260,-

Habakkuk was a praying Prophet. Prayer is always a contemporary experience. Habakkuk is a contemporary book. Habakkuk was relevant for the circumstances of his day and is relevant for praying people of any time. Some writers describe Habakkuk as a minor prophet. This study presents him as a major pray-er. The book of Habakkuk is actually the record of a conversation between God and the prophet about God answering prayer. In Chapter 1 the prophet accused God of a non-answer to prayer. God instructed Habakkuk to carefully observe the events in the nations of his world. This would help him to discover the activity of God and would cause the prophet to wonder marvelously. God's answer to Habakkuk's prayer disclosed the planned use of the Chaldeans (Babylon) for correcting the nation of Judah. In Chapter 2 Habakkuk choses a vantage point upon a tower from which to observe God's work. Chapter 2 also records God's instructions for Habakkuk to write a concise, clear, and easy to read record of his prayer and God's answer to his prayer. Chapter three of Habakkuk is a combination prayer and praise song which details one of the Bible's most meaningful and total commitments to God. That prayer and praise song reveals that Habakkuk did come to wonder marvelously at the ways God answers prayer. Habakkuk became a Praying Prophet. Dr. Byron Allen Jr. is retired after serving for about sixty years as pastor of churches affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard Payne University with studies in Bible, English, History, and Greek. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree (summa cum laude) from Bethany Divinity College & Seminary. Dr. Allen is the father of five children, who have served in various church staff positions in pastoring, education, administration, and music. Dr. Allen uses the biblical languages in an easy to understand way to glean fresh and meaningful messages from Bible words. Previously published books by Dr. Allen include Pray Like This: Nine Modes for More Meaningful Praying; His Excellent Name: A Thirty Day Devotional Study of Names of God; In His Presence: A Study of the Presence of God and a Fresh Insight into Worship and Music; In The Garden, a book of devotional studies; and The Praying Prophet, a Study of a Conversation with God about Prayer (a fresh approach to prayer and the Old Testament book of Habakkuk). Dr. Allen has an extremely strong desire to help Christians develop a close personal relationship with God and grow in the knowledge of God's word and in the art of worshipping God.

We live in a complex world along with life challenges and we need an anchor to sustain us during these times. The enemy we forge against has infiltrated mankind but is not of flesh and bones. Our greatest weapon, inspired by God, is handed down to us through His word, the Bible. Reading the bible on a daily basis gives us insight to Satan's lies and deepens our faith. As God has commanded us to love one another, we are prompted to share with others His words of inspiration that brings comfort and peace when trouble seeps into our lives. Going to God in prayer offers protection from the unseen dark side and allows His light to guide our steps. Knowing that God is interested in the affairs of mankind, we might experience His presence in many ways. These experiences make us who we are and I share some of those moments in this book. If we believe in God almighty, we should glorify His name and for that purpose, we were created in His image. From an early age, Sharon knew there was something greater than she could imagine. Something wonderful and beyond her sight. Something that loved unconditionally, and that love is always with us. With her family grown and seeing her grandchildren have children, Sharon felt an urge to write what she knew to be true. We are all to share God's word and bring others to know Jesus Christ. For if we love one another, we will strive to bring others to His glory. We are to share the news that He is alive, today, yesterday and tomorrow and speaks to us in many ways. Sharon had the opportunity to serve as a Stephens Minister and studied Theology at Indianapolis University. She currently teaches bible studies and became interested in volunteering with hospitalized inpatients and Hospice service. Unaware that by volunteering she would find others that shared her joy and her rewards were priceless. Life has its challenges. So, Sharon's wish is that this book might bring comfort whenever the path you've chosen is hard to travel. May God guide you during this unsettling time. Blessings, Sharon Williams-Wade
