A journey indicates a long way to go. When grief spirals us out of control, it cannot be dealt with immediately to completion. Each layer allows us to go on to the next. There are no normal or typical days. When your mind is full and needs relief, each chapter allows you to be interactive and ease your busy mind. Living in the present is a daunting reality. Accepting total peace is attainable. Our faith can become tangible and we must rely on that alone to survive. When we feel our story and our strength are ours alone, we discredit God 's power working in our lives. The Lord creates a void in our lives, to be filled by Him alone. We are able to survive beyond our grief. The healing heart of a grief survivor heals a little more upon opening up to a newly grieving heart. Our brokenness is not a death sentence or a punishment. Brokenness is meant for the glory of God, for when we are weak our God is strong. Janet Davis Adams was blessed to be the daughter of a theology professor and pastor, Dr. Don Davis and mother, Lavona Davis. After the sudden death of her husband, she earned a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology and Christian Counseling at Louisiana Baptist University. She lives in the idyllic mountain town of Dahlonega, Georgia. She serves on the Women's Ministry Committee and teaches a women's class at Dahlonega Baptist Church. Her daughter Amber, son in law Jonathan and granddaughter Piper, live close by.

  • - A Conversation with God About Prayer Studies in Habakkuk
av Dr Byron & Jr Allen
    257

Habakkuk was a praying Prophet. Prayer is always a contemporary experience. Habakkuk is a contemporary book. Habakkuk was relevant for the circumstances of his day and is relevant for praying people of any time. Some writers describe Habakkuk as a minor prophet. This study presents him as a major pray-er. The book of Habakkuk is actually the record of a conversation between God and the prophet about God answering prayer. In Chapter 1 the prophet accused God of a non-answer to prayer. God instructed Habakkuk to carefully observe the events in the nations of his world. This would help him to discover the activity of God and would cause the prophet to wonder marvelously. God's answer to Habakkuk's prayer disclosed the planned use of the Chaldeans (Babylon) for correcting the nation of Judah. In Chapter 2 Habakkuk choses a vantage point upon a tower from which to observe God's work. Chapter 2 also records God's instructions for Habakkuk to write a concise, clear, and easy to read record of his prayer and God's answer to his prayer. Chapter three of Habakkuk is a combination prayer and praise song which details one of the Bible's most meaningful and total commitments to God. That prayer and praise song reveals that Habakkuk did come to wonder marvelously at the ways God answers prayer. Habakkuk became a Praying Prophet. Dr. Byron Allen Jr. is retired after serving for about sixty years as pastor of churches affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard Payne University with studies in Bible, English, History, and Greek. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree (summa cum laude) from Bethany Divinity College & Seminary. Dr. Allen is the father of five children, who have served in various church staff positions in pastoring, education, administration, and music. Dr. Allen uses the biblical languages in an easy to understand way to glean fresh and meaningful messages from Bible words. Previously published books by Dr. Allen include Pray Like This: Nine Modes for More Meaningful Praying; His Excellent Name: A Thirty Day Devotional Study of Names of God; In His Presence: A Study of the Presence of God and a Fresh Insight into Worship and Music; In The Garden, a book of devotional studies; and The Praying Prophet, a Study of a Conversation with God about Prayer (a fresh approach to prayer and the Old Testament book of Habakkuk). Dr. Allen has an extremely strong desire to help Christians develop a close personal relationship with God and grow in the knowledge of God's word and in the art of worshipping God.

We live in a complex world along with life challenges and we need an anchor to sustain us during these times. The enemy we forge against has infiltrated mankind but is not of flesh and bones. Our greatest weapon, inspired by God, is handed down to us through His word, the Bible. Reading the bible on a daily basis gives us insight to Satan's lies and deepens our faith. As God has commanded us to love one another, we are prompted to share with others His words of inspiration that brings comfort and peace when trouble seeps into our lives. Going to God in prayer offers protection from the unseen dark side and allows His light to guide our steps. Knowing that God is interested in the affairs of mankind, we might experience His presence in many ways. These experiences make us who we are and I share some of those moments in this book. If we believe in God almighty, we should glorify His name and for that purpose, we were created in His image. From an early age, Sharon knew there was something greater than she could imagine. Something wonderful and beyond her sight. Something that loved unconditionally, and that love is always with us. With her family grown and seeing her grandchildren have children, Sharon felt an urge to write what she knew to be true. We are all to share God's word and bring others to know Jesus Christ. For if we love one another, we will strive to bring others to His glory. We are to share the news that He is alive, today, yesterday and tomorrow and speaks to us in many ways. Sharon had the opportunity to serve as a Stephens Minister and studied Theology at Indianapolis University. She currently teaches bible studies and became interested in volunteering with hospitalized inpatients and Hospice service. Unaware that by volunteering she would find others that shared her joy and her rewards were priceless. Life has its challenges. So, Sharon's wish is that this book might bring comfort whenever the path you've chosen is hard to travel. May God guide you during this unsettling time. Blessings, Sharon Williams-Wade

I have used the alphabets to start since without knowing the alphabets we would be unable to read. The shapes are important because they show us many things that are around us, like when traveling they can show us what is ahead. I included the U.S. Money since many do not know there are actual bills for which they have not known existed. And of course, colors are very important since the world is made of many different natural colors of its own. Beauty is as beautiful as you make it whether in you mind or in reality. Numbers are last but not least, in this book. To understand a lot of things you must understand numbers and the quantity and value of them. The author will use aesthetic choice to indicate the many different ways to write words, hence, some areas have two or three different types of writing the same words. Naomi was born and raised in the South-Central Mountains of New Mexico and still lives there with her family. Naomi grew up with 15 siblings in her family and had the opportunity to play alongside the entire ridge of the neighborhood families. She graduated from high school and has a college education. Education has always been a part of her life and it continues with her children and grandchildren. Naomi made a similar book to teach her grandchild and was inspired by the learning; therefore, she wanted to give other children that opportunity.

  • - Musings from the southern she shed of a life marred by grief, saved by grace, overflowing with gratitude
    av Marti Miller Willoughby
    347

How does one find contentment during times of grief? Author Martha Miller-Willoughby thought the same when her first husband passed from cancer and she was learning a new life being a widow. Yet even then, God was seeking her out and brought her to a place of peace that helms her latest collection of essays, Seasoned Contentment. Raised Catholic and living in a large family, Martha found herself distancing from the God of her youth as she grew up, but it wasn't until she was handling grief after loss that she came running back to God. The essays, written by Martha for the now defunct She Magazine, capture the seasons of life and finding gratitude and hope with God during them. Whether it is acceptance in aging, memories with loved ones, or learning to live life after loss, Martha shows that with God, all situations can be met with contentment.

  • - The first First Lady from S.W.A.T.S.
    av Bunnie Jackson-Ransom
    257

So much more than Atlanta's first Black first lady, Bunnie Jackson Ransom keeps it real while discussing her contributions to American society. From her humble beginnings in Louisburg, North Carolina; to her days as a Delta on the campus of North Carolina College (now North Carolina Central University); and on to her days as Atlanta's first lady and pioneer in public relations, Jackson Ransom's details a life well-lived-a nuanced and interesting autobiography that expounds upon the pride and pitfalls of this Black woman pursuing the American dream. Deciding on the name, "Memoirs of a Life Well Lived," for this book was harder than writing the story. My family, friends and I finally settled on this title "Memoirs of a Life Well Lived," because I am most grateful for the amazing, and wonderful life which I was blessed to live. It was a "bucket list" of great experiences - traveling around the world, meeting people in high and low places, making friends, and trying not to make enemies, I had a ball. I lived my life with gusto. I tried to be a good wife and mother; but I am afraid that I was a bit selfish from time to time. I pray that my children will forgive me for not being around to do some of the motherly things some time; but I always tried to make up for my absences. Thank God for my wonderful and dedicated mother, Elizabeth, who eventually came to live in our home in Atlanta after my father passed on to his rewards in glory. I remain just a Black woman from SWATS - South West Atlanta Too Strong, with lots of memories and stories to brag about.

  • - The Dinosaur
    av Stephanie Tucci
    177

"The Way It Once Was: The Dinosaur," transports hearts back to the Age of the Dinosaurs. A glimpse of primordial beauty from its beginnings to its end enchants and haunts the reader. Lush habitants created for these magnificent creatures once existed for millions of years long ago. Harmony and peace ruled on Pangaea until violence surfaced ushering in the Ice Age.This story follows the lives of two dinosaurs, a grandfather and his granddaughter as they flee flesh eating predators. The grandfather embarks on a narrative of past beloved memories to share with his granddaughter."It was a very long time ago that I speak about my heart, my little one...yet, nonetheless it did happen. I tell you, it was real! And it all took place here, right here even where we are now standing," assured the incredible creature with his great, purple eyes and dark pupils dancing across them.""...Juicy, enormous, succulent fruits and berries beyond one''s imagination loaded the trees and bushes, so lusciously sweet and intensely bitter. Thick leaves oozed with each nutritious bite. My long tongue remembers each one even now as I salivate thinking about it...""But, Grandfather when was such a time as this? I cannot even imagine it to ever have been!" His granddaughter''s large, dark, almond shaped eyes grew bigger in the twilight."Millions of years before my little one, millions of years before; I was there at the end of it all, you see..."I reside in Manchester-by-the-Sea in Massachusetts. It is a privilege and honor to write for the Father. This story was first written by Him before I wrote it. My humble intent is to make Him known, to bring heaven on earth through my stories. He deserves the Glory! (Matthew 6:33; 13:52)

  • - Do your children have a future in America?
    av Dr Charles Jay White
    261

This book is similar to my two previous books (Consider This and The Rise and Fall of the American Dream) wherein I discuss the dangers America faces should we continue down this destructive path. The book covers topics such as corruption in government, the risk China presents to our democracy, immigration, riots in our streets, the Pharmaceutical Industry, the media and many more all of which have had a great impact on our survivability as a nation.America has reached a crossroad wherein we will have to make substantial changes in how our government conducts our affairs. Should we ignore the obvious, your children and grandchildren will not have a future. This book is a warning should we fail to return to what our founding fathers envisioned for this "Great experiment called Democracy." Dr. White graduated from Chaminade University, Honolulu Hawaii with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He later attended Bethany Theology Seminary wherein he received his Master Degree and Doctorate in Christian Counseling. • - The women Jesus encountered in John's gospel and why it matters now
    av Dawn Baggott Ford
    177

Throughout the life of Jesus-where He went, what He did-where He chose to stop is perhaps the most fascinating aspect of His ministry. In those special moments in the gospel, we watch in wonder as Jesus went out of His way, even changing direction, to seek out a certain few-especially women. When we look at the stops along Jesus's journey, we discover amazing truths about His character-we learn what's important to Him, who matters to Him, and why He came to be the Savior of the world. In Jesus's Stops: The Women Jesus Encountered in John's Gospel and Why It Matters Now, author Dawn Ford takes you on an adventure with Christ that will open your eyes to His powerful one-on-one conversations with women of the Bible. While these women may not have been unique by the world's standards-and most lived in shame and were marginalized-Jesus stopped to be with them. He saw them worthy of an encounter with the Son of God, and their lives were never the same. Through Ford's captivating narration of these valuable stories from Jesus's time on earth, you will experience the transformational love of God that brought compassion, wisdom, and revelation to the women on Jesus's path. From His miracle at the wedding of Cana to His appearance before Mary Magdalene after His resurrection, Jesus's Stops reveals powerful insight within our Savior's interactions with women from the gospel of John. Just as Jesus longed to encounter the women in these stories, He wants to meet you the same way. He sees you as a child of God who is worth His time. As you read Jesus's Stops, invite Him to invade your current circumstances and change your life in a radical way. Bible teacher and speaker, Dawn Ford is passionate about seeing lives transformed through the healing power of God's Word. • - Consejos Para Pastores y Lideres
    av Jose R Arce
    247

Poems Of The Heart is a book that details my life and issues that I and the country were going through my younger adult years. It details poems about, Love, Suicide, Peace, it has a little bit of everything in it, even topics that some are afraid to talk about. This book also details poems that uplift you, encourage you, and help you in life decisions. The most important thing to me is that someone through reading this book will come to know and have a personal relationship with Christ Jesus.

Today's progressive thinking is, "what makes a person happy is ok." That can do harm because God is not in the picture. Some think others are outdated with their way of thinking and that the Bible is outdated. God says, "I'm sending you out as sheep in the midst of Wolves."(Matt 10:16) Be wise, because there is an us versus them reality in the world. You are saved to fill His good pleasures. Be an example of Him and come to Jesus; let your light shine as light and show people the way. The world is messaging us constantly, sucking us into their way-we need to be alert to God's way. As Christians, it is not our job to judge outsiders. It is for God and the Holy Spirit to deal with their sins. We are to live godly lives, keeping our conduct honorable, so when they see us, they will see our good deeds. We need to be cautious and stand up for God and tell people about Jesus. Truth finds light in our failures. So, let's look at what the Bible says. After all, these are God's own words. Whenever in doubt, go back to the beginning to see how God created the earth. This will give us the answers to all our questions as to how He wants us to live. I live in Pennsylvania with my wonderful family. I have three grown children and seven grandchildren who are all very dear to me in my life of 72 years. I've been studying the Bible for many years. I've come to have a clear picture of what the Bible is telling us and what it is not. Satan is always at work, scheming and planning to take us down, so be alert. Faith with always keep balance in our lives. Peace be with you all.
