  • - Motivating Our Children to Higher Altitudes
    av Chana R Thompson-Brooks
    250,-

Praying for my children daily is as easy as a Sunday morning. When my children, Elliott, II and Elese were little, I was blessed to take them to work with me. Every morning we would stand in my office and pray. I would pray for their days and attitudes (especially that little girl people Elese. She was something fierce). It got so good to them that Elliott would run to the office and ready himself to pray before I made it there. He would gather his little self and lead that thing ya'll! This was our normal. As they grew older and into middle and high school, I began traveling across the country for work. As I began traveling, daily prayer became more and more important. I had to stay connected to my children. I realized that not only did I have to keep my A but I was responsible for equipping my children, with the tools they need to keep their A. So, the journey of this book began! The author, Chana R. Thompson-Brooks helps young people apply practical application to understanding and developing a prayer life. Keeping Your A: Motivating Our Children to Higher Altitudes is a wonderful inspirational book posed to lift the spirits of young people and encourage them each day. The funny yet real inspirations will leave you laughing and prayed up. Chana R. Thompson-Brooks is a native of Buffalo, NY. Chana has earned AAS, BS, and MS degrees in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and consulting with small businesses. Chana is the Founder and CEO of MOCHA, a mentoring program for young women. God alone is worthy of our worship, love, and obedient faith, Jesus Himself put this in strong, plain words for us in John's Gospel where, in chapter 14 verse 23 He said, "If anyone loves me he will keep my word." This book is a message from God's Word on this crucial biblical theme: the genuineness of professed faith in Jesus Christ. As the apostle James forcefully declares, true faith, "saving" faith, in Christ is obedient faith shown by deeds of obedience to God's Word. My wife and I are missionaries with Cadence International, a Christian ministry dedicated to bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ and hospitality-based discipleship to members of the armed forces and their families. We have served with Cadence for 54 years, and during this time we have lived and ministered in six countries. Our ministries have included hospitality-centered discipleship, evangelism via walk-in servicemen's centers, Bible centered retreats, pastoral care of NATO and JUSMAG chapel fellowships, and Field Leadership for the mission.I've written one previous book, titled Tending The Warrior Soul.

This collection of memoirs walks the reader through the experiences of a child growing up in Omaha, Nebraska in the 1950s. Her young life in Cathedral parish centers around church, school, and neighborhood whose ever-widening perimeters became her arena of learning, mischief, and play. School stories began with the bewilderment of a five-year-old, meeting for the first time a traditionally dressed Dominican sister, her first-grade teacher. Then through other stories with a child's vision, we see the education she received, activities in which she participated, and the people surrounding her in her twelve years at Saint Cecilia's Grade School and Cathedral High School. Her stories also visit places that no longer exist, like Peony Park, Aksarben, Blackburn Pharmacy and even, sadly enough, our Cathedral High School. Although these places no longer exist, visiting them again will show you how special they were, and how much fun they brought to young lives. The real stars of these memoirs are the people that made them memorable. Usually identified only with their initials, they bring forth stories that were fun to revisit. Each person was one component in the development of a young life so different from those growing up in the twenty-first century. The all-important family, the class of thirty-five first graders that grew to 111 high school graduates, the sisters and priests that gave their lives to their God, and to their students were all important pieces in the development of this Catholic Girl in the '50s. Mary Ellen Kauth Olsson (AKA Baba Herk) is a wife, mother of four, and grandmother of one and a retired alternative educator with a BA in English and history from Duchesne College and an MS degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has written stories and poems throughout her seventy-seven years, but writing her memories for the Echo section of the "Cathedral Chimes" and the desire to share her family stories with her grandson developed this, her first book.

  • - The Need to Return to the Word of God
    av Robert Lee Bell
    270,-

Today, churches are filled with members quite ignorant of what they believe, sitting to be entertained while reciting creeds and confessions the meaning of which they do not know. Different "gospel" messages abound; word of faith, word of knowledge, extra-biblical revelation, emotion, and experience have replaced the authority of the Word of God. Many in the church today are like in the 16th century, in bondage to Satan, deceived by part-truth doctrines and counterfeit experiences, which are widely accepted as being of God. Postmodern philosophy and theology are making rapid inroads into even the most conservative and fundamental seminaries and Bible colleges. Those who seek to hear the Word of God uncompromisingly preached and taught run to and fro as in the days of Amos seeking to hear a word from the Lord. As in the days of Amos, most search in vain amongst today's churches for the Word of God. The silence is deafening! The Apostate Church is under the judgment of God. There is a famine in the land. Endorsements by Dr. John Birley, Pastor of Sungkyul Church English Ministry in Anyang, ROK; Dr. John Bondy, retired pastor, missionary, and seminary professor; and Pastor Dave Kimmel, Founder and Director of Training the Nations. Robert Lee Bell (M.S., M.R.E., D.Min., Ph.D) lives in Bucheon, ROK, serving as an Advising Professor with Tyndale Theological Seminary. Dr. Bell is an ordained minister who has maintained a residence in Korea since 1998. Dr. Bell previously served as a youth pastor, pastor, prison/hospital/police chaplain, international missionary, and university professor (Vietnam, ROK, Saipan). Dr. Bell served in Vietnam with the U. S. Navy (1966-1968). Author of An Analysis and Comparison of the Fivefold Gospel With the Apostolic Gospel and The Fourth Dimension: Truth or Deception. • - Is an Unseen Elite Network Controlling America?
    av George Conner
    250,-

Stonewalled is a novelized true story. When the United States government passed new environmental laws under the 2010 Clean Air Act to dramatically reduce carbon and related exhaust gases from fossil fuels, two young automotive geniuses responded. Utilizing their knowledge and experience gained in their Formula One Racing careers, they set out to perfect a technology that would achieve the federal government's guidelines to reduce exhaust emissions and increase fuel efficiencies. With the government's focus on diesel engines, the twin brothers refined their technology to change the very nature of diesel fuel so it would be thoroughly consumed in conventional diesel engines. The twin's new system could be added to existing diesels engines utilized in heavy trucks, construction equipment, ocean going vessels and sea ports. After ten years and millions of dollars spent on research and development, having passed every federal testing protocol, their new technology was perfected and proven in field trials and in the nation's most sophisticated testing laboratories. The new fuel system offered an increase of 25 percent to 50 percent fuel efficiency while reducing exhaust emissions below the proposed 2010 air quality standards. It seemed a foregone conclusion that the United States government would welcome the new technology with open arms. Instead, the industrial and financial 'elite' who control the nation's lobby-based government reared its ugly head. This new technology was forced into prolonged bureaucratic red tape and unexplainable harassment. Ultimately the twins' miraculous technology was denied federal approval and certification, ending in the death of a world altering technology. Now the nation is faced with the Green New Deal and the banning of all fossil fuel. The author was intrigued with nature from childhood. Seeing the pristine spring fed river of his youth irreversibly polluted, he devoted his life to the abatement and remediation of pollution. After college the author worked for the state water quality agency and took part in restoring the Houston Ship Channel, which was among the nation's most polluted waterways. After leaving the state the author went on to found eleven environmental corporations providing design, construction, and operations of treatment and remediation services. Now retired, the author and his wife enjoy the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and tending their country property.

  • - A Fresh Look at Christian Stewardship for You and Your Church
av Wendell Van Gunst & Betsy Arkema
    186,-

If you're looking for a comprehensive and challenging study on Christian Stewardship you will find that here. Be prepared for some challenging questions but more importantly, be prepared for this study to change your life. Jesus said we will serve one of two masters: God or Money. It is our prayer that this study will, - Challenge you to be honest about which master you're serving - Help you discover what it means to follow Jesus and what He expects from His followers - Help you understand how your financial stewardship is a part of God's Master plan - Challenge you to evaluate the mission effort of your local church, and - Ensure that your church (no matter its size or location) really matters! Coming to understand that stewardship is an adventure that involves risk, we'll end this study by looking at both how to develop risk takers in our families and churches and at the incredible blessings promised to those who are faithful (and risky) stewards. Betsy Arkema is the 2nd daughter of Wendell and Ruth Van Gunst. She lives in New Era with her husband, Paul, one of the 3rd generation owners of Country Dairy. Together they have 3 children. Betsy is a high school math teacher by education but spends her time working at Country Dairy, taking care of her family and volunteering at her church where she helps plan and write worship services. She has grown up with her dad's passion for the church and for mission work. It has been an honor to partner with him on this project. Wendell Van Gunst is a retired farmer and business owner. He began Country Dairy, a milk, cheese & ice cream bottling facility on his family farm in 1985. He began Gulu Country Dairy Research Farm and Training School in Gulu, Uganda in 2013. He still lives with his wife, Ruth, on the family farm in New Era, MI. Together they have been blessed with 4 daughters, 3 sons-in-law and 17 grandchildren. The Book of Esther (an orphan raised by a male cousin) has haunted me from the time I first taught it as a Bible Study! It was not at all like I thought. How could this happen to a Godly teenager who had been taught scripture nightly by her cousin? Twenty years later and having taught it from 8 different sources I continued to want to find answers! Sometimes there is nothing one can do to solve an issue but dig deeper into the story - learn more about the times and the Jewish life style. Thus, I began my search! Young women then were expected to learn household chores, how to cook, perhaps plant a garden, sell items in the marketplace, be faithful to attend the synagogue, and obey their parents. Mordecai, her cousin, would have trained her more like a son! Nightly he would have shared God's word! As he worked at the King's gate, except for days of worship, she would have played a bigger part at her age in fulfilling the chores of a wife/mother. Once a young girl began her period (per Leviticus 15:19-23) however, things changed. It was then time to look at marriage. At the same time in their lives the King has sent soldiers all over his kingdom to find him a wife. Mordecai would have instantly known this as it would have been interesting talk at the gate where he worked. However, I don't believe he thought it would affect him! We see in scripture that Esther knew of him often counting his coins in the evenings and thought he was planning her dowry. Alice K. Rawlings is an experienced Bible teacher and speaker. Her goal in life has been to equip ladies to be Christ-centered and vocal about it! She serves as the Women's Bible Study teacher at Christ's Community Church where her husband, Scott, has ministered for the past 50 years! They are the parents of 5 adult children - one, now the teaching pastor and one grandson the youth minister at CCC. Besides their ministry at CCC they are very active in Uganda having built a baby rescue mission, and help fund two orphanages. Two adult orphans are now earning their master's degrees here to return home to teach and preach.

Today, notably there are many reasons for individuals to voice their concerns loudly. It appears within our society, the louder one or a group voices their purpose in what they want to see happen, the swifter conversations or factors materialize. Muted by God for a Season is a small reminder to God's people, that God will cause one to remain silent, until His purpose for your life is ready to be birthed. During this season of being muted by God, be assured that He has already set in motion the purpose and a plan for manifestation. Elijah Offor was born in Obot Ndom, Itumbonuso to his parents Akpan Ukpai Offor and Esther Ima Ukpai Offor. Elijah is married, a father of two, an uncle and a spiritual father to many. Elijah is an ordained Pastor and completely committed to preaching the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is known as a prayer warrior, intercessor, and a student of the Word of God.

  • - Prayers for Your Black Children
    av Willie Mae Patterson
    180,-

Are your tired of being sick and tired of our young Black men and women being beat down, killed and made to feel they do not have a place or a right in this earth. We are going to have to look at the causes and the root cause of these situations. It is one thing the Black community as a whole has abandoned...and that is PRAYER. We were delivered from slavery by the prayers of our ancestors. Their songs were prayers sent from one plantation to the other to warn of pending danger or directions to a pickup site. We have looked to the government, the school systems and even the justice system to correct the problem of racism. This book provides help in understanding who the culprit really is and how we must look back into ourselves for the real answer to this dilemma. As parents, we must take responsibility for the children we have birthed in this earth as well as the responsibility for their future health and peace. Their lives are depending on it. You will: Learn to recognize how to find the purpose for your child How to hear the voice of God for your child How to pray effective prayers that will loose your child to be all God called he/she to be. Prayer and the word of God is the most powerful weapon against the enemy that haunts our children on a daily basis. We have tried everything else for centuries. Lets go back to our roots and our Creator and see the salvation of the Lord. We owe it to our seed. Willie Mae Patterson is a minister at the New Greater Love Church in Paducah KY. She is the leader of the NGL Intercessory Team. She operates in the office of the Prophetic and is a consistent Prayer Warrior. Her philosophy and driving passion is to pray God's kingdom down to earth on a regular basis. She loves children and has been known as a baby whisperer. She was a professor at Mid-Continent University until its closing and work with the Paducah Public School System presently. She has a Master's Degree in Human Resources.

    366,-

It's very important to know your history and where you came from. There are so many experiences within the stories of our heritage that we can learn from, grow from, and use to better understand our present. Just as this applies to our individual lives, it also applies to institutions. Understanding the history and heritage of our churches should be a meaningful part of our current faith journey. In this vein, author Ulysses S. King, Jr., presents his father's work regarding the history of Christ Holy Sanctified Church. Fountainhead: The Beginning: A History of Christ Holy Sanctified Church by Bishop Ulysses S. King, Sr., revised and edited by Ulysses S. King, Jr., is a comprehensive narrative and history of the founding of this black classical Pentecostal church and denomination in the South. The story is told through three generations of the King family, from the late bishops Judge King and his son Ulysses S. King, Sr., to the third generation in Ulysses S. King, Jr., who was inspired to tell his father and grandfather's story and share their experience of faith, determination, and overcoming trials during the journey of creating the church, such as poverty, racism, and religious prejudice. Throughout the book, the author also leads readers to rethink the contemporary writings of the founding of the classical Pentecostal church from a singular view of a few sources, describes the major forces that have shaped the Black church during the past 100 years, and attempts to clear up some of the myths, misconceptions, misunderstandings, and misinformation about the where, when, and under whom Christ Holy Sanctified Church was founded. This meaningful work leaves readers with a much greater understanding and appreciation for the rich history behind this community of faith.

Welcome to New Wings! I am just a simple woman that loves Jesus, people, and specially kids. God put this on my heart the idea to write in 2017 for children. Now have finished it in 2020 during quarantine. Children have been on my heart deeply during this time. This book is about a little ladybug Daisy. Watch as she learns to love herself. She makes new friends Betty bug, and Bo bug. She displays real struggles children, teenagers and yes adults face. Especially children dealing with teasing, bullying, low self-esteem and comparing themselves to others. It is a real struggle with some kids and yes adults. I believe this cute short story will help all ages learn our confidence in Christ and how simple it is to receive Christ love, friendships, and about forgiving those that hurt us. Pray you enjoy and all children have more comfort, smile, and know that God is here watching us all grow. Everything You Need to Know About Transforming Your Organization Fix it or die. God calls the Body of Christ to be a team. Any organization is only as effective as its teams. In 1939, the Methodist Church reflected the society of that time and not the Body of Christ, a multiracial team working together for good (Thomas, 1992), which Paul described in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 and Galatians 3:28. Paul said the church is many people from various backgrounds, races, and nationalities, both male and female. Nevertheless, we must work together. In 1939, the Methodist Church missed this portion of Paul's message; because they did, they created a great dilemma by forming a racial jurisdiction. The Methodist Church did not project a bright future for the Body of Christ, especially for African American members. This book examines the impact and results of the change management process that the Methodist Organization used to dismantle the racially structured jurisdiction called the Central Jurisdiction and extracts the organizational change lessons for today. One of the prime priorities in organizations worldwide is organizational change, yet studies have shown that 70% of planned change processes fail (Kotter, 1996; Hammer & Champy, 2006). This book shows you how to change any organization for the better. About the Author DR. DERRICK R. RHODES is a United Methodist Pastor and scholar in the field of ecclesial organizational leadership. He holds degrees from North Carolina Central University, Gammon Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center, Drew University Theological School, and Regent University School of Business and Leadership. He is the author of the following books: - If You Want God to Help You, - If You God to Help You be at Peace, and- Living a Successful Life Today.

  • - A psychological view of theological concepts
av PhD Kolb & Eric J
    260,-

The Psychology of God is a scientific study of various aspects of human development and behavior taken from both a theological and psychological perspective. The main premise is this: If we are called children of God, then how we grew physically as children may be associated with how we grow spiritually as children of God; furthermore, how God raised us as His children may reflect how we should raise our children. The Psychology of God points out that modern scientific psychology has discovered that ancient references to the heart, body, mind, and soul correspond to the modern understanding of these four components of which a human being is comprised. However, in other aspects, such as psychological therapy, the Bible and Modern Psychology differ immensely. While the author openly admits his belief in a personal God, The Psychology of God is a scientific work based on scientific facts. In-text citations reference the peer-reviewed sources of statements and claims made throughout the book. An extensive bibliography list offers and encourages the reader to dig deeper into the psychology of God; and discover their purpose in life, which is the road to happiness and life satisfaction. Dr. Eric J. Kolb was born and raised on a farm in Nineveh, PA. His father was a professional football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his mom was and still is a cowgirl. When He was two, he and his adopted sister were sleeping in their crib when a fire broke out. His dad was able to climb into a second-story window and save the two kids. Thus, Kolb grew up knowing that God had a special purpose for his life. In high school, Kolb started with a very promising future in sports, but injuries, most likely due to muscle dystrophy, led him down an academic path. Upon graduation with a bachelor's in Math from Ohio University, Kolb wanted to spend a summer in Germany as a street performer. Kolb became a professional performing artist, but once again, his illness changed his path. Thus, Kolb went back to school, obtained his master's in psychological counseling and later his Ph.D. in general psychology.

This book is a collection of mainly Christian poems. Julie has written some others that are included because she felt they could come under the title of "Broken Treasures". As we can see in our life, in our world and in others the brokenness that sin brings about. Truly, it is only through Jesus Christ that reconciliation to God, forgiveness of sin, and the mending of brokenness comes about. When we are transformed by Christ, we are God's treasure. It is Julie's prayer that God receives glory in this book. May the Lord God be with you, bless you and bring His peace to you.
