  • - Moving Closer to My Destination
    av Belza Elia Ramos
    261

Psalm 127:1a Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain who build. This is the story of my journey of faith. I am a cradle Catholic who grew up with God, family and community as the moral compass points in my life, in a small town where everyone knew each other. I conflated obeying God with obeying parents and cultural norms, until I ventured out into the world. Sadly, I married outside the Church, my faith and culture, all of which taught marriage is forever. God was ever calling me back to my faith, immature and unschooled as it was, but the world tugged in another direction and I stayed frozen in the situation. With a clear promise from God that He would not leave me orphan, I took a leap of faith and left with my two children. With God at its center, my life has been an incredible journey of learning to grow in faith and do His work. The Angels that surround me re-anchor me. This is my personal response to God. I leave you, the reader enough room to build your own response. That you are reading this book is the reason God was prompting me to share it. Belza Elia Ramos was born in 1940 in Saline├▒o, TX, and grew up in Corpus Christi. There she pursued her dream of being a nurse. Her life is full of "firsts" as a Hispanic woman, with few Hispanic women role models. She writes to encourage others to be resilient, have faith in God and themselves. Past experiences often help forge new careers. She enjoys being with family and she is looking forward to her first great-granddaughter! Writing with the hindsight of an adult helps her understand life better and she gets to laugh and cry all over again!

A Trip To See The King by Anita Stack is a heartwarming, funny story about a curious rabbit who goes on the trip of a lifetime. Whether you are young or young at heart, you will enjoy this story full of adventure and life lessons. And fun fact-all of the animals in the book have been named after pets that have shared their lives with the author''s extended family! Come along on the journey with Max to meet the King, and once you know Him, your life will never be the same. I have always loved to write. I told my oldest son when he was 10, I was going to write a book. I also told him I would buy him a Corvette from the sale of the book. This story has been in my computer since 2007, long after I made either of those two statements. The book I thought I would write never happened and unless Scott will settle for a die cast model the second thing will not become a reality either. The plans we have for ourselves may not happen, but the plans God has for us will if we cooperate. Dream dreams, make plans, make them big and don''t give up. Include God every step of the way, and maybe you will not have to wait 40 years for your dreams and your life to meet up. Be Blessed A

  • - A Story of a Beautiful Land and Beautiful People in the Midst of Brokenness
    av Tony Hammon
    347

Three questions rocked the author''s life:The first, in the early 70''s when Tony, as a marine biology teacher was confronted with: "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" (Mark 8:36). He thought, "What good is it for me to produce the best marine biologist in the world, if they never know Christ?" That launched his lifelong journey in Christian education. Then two other questions from Richard Sterns, drove him to say yes to the presidency of IACCS. "What if there are children who will suffer somehow because I failed to obey God?""What if my cowardice costs even one child somewhere in the world his or her life?" Those questions sparked a "Popeye" moment. He, like Popeye, said, "I can''t stands it; I can''t stands it no more!" He had to do something! This book is a call to action. The work is essential: We are educating educators, to train the next generation to be future leaders of their nation. Leaders of Ugandan churches, orphanages, and schools all face daily crisis. Death is all around them; and it''s going to take far more than posting a photo of a child on a refrigerator in America and sending a $30/month check to make a significant impact. All proceeds from this book will be given to IACCS and the children they serve. All proceeds from this book will be given to IACCS and the children they serve. Tony has spent his life living in the Florida Keys. He has been a biology/marine biology teacher, principal superintendent, pastor, and currently president of IACCS. He started his teaching career as an atheist, but soon became a follower of Christ. He and his wife Colleen, have traveled extensively and enjoys water whether frozen or liquid - diving, surfing, snow skiing, fishing.

"Knowing God should be our greatest pursuit. That is why I am really excited about Walk with a Limp. Ryan Noble, one of my sons in the ministry, has written a powerful book that brings you face to face with knowing Him. With captivating personal testimonies, Ryan takes you on a journey of what it means to truly pursue God.As your perspective of God changes, you will find yourself wrestling with Him.But that''s a good thing because wrestling with God will change your life forever."Dr. Tony EvansSenior Pastor, Oak Cliff Bible FellowshipPresident, The Urban AlternativeThe world is full of the unknown. Will I find a new job? Will I ever meet "the one?"Is there really a God out there who loves me? If He''s there, why does He seem so distant sometimes, and why doesn''t He answer my prayers?Walk with a Limp shows us that God is not angry when we ask these questions. He is not afraid of our doubts, and He isn''t offended by our intellectual showdown between human reasoning and faith. Instead, God is teaching us something-we might not know or truly understand who He is.With powerful stories from his own life and raw admissions of his own struggles,Ryan Noble leads us on a journey of discovering who God really is and howHe operates in the world. Instead of running from God, what if we paused and asked Him our unspeakable questions? Sometimes it may seem like He''s not listening. Sometimes we may not like His answers. But we often see God best when we stop and wrestle with Him over our doubts and concerns. We get stronger, and we sometimes bear scars that come with growth. And that''s okay. In fact, it''s a good thing. Ryan Noble is a teaching pastor at The Rock Fellowship Church in Miami, Florida. He is the founder of Ryan J Noble Consulting, which helps ministries and organizations achieve greater impact through traditional media. His background in performing arts and his M.A. in Media and Communication from Dallas Theological Seminary allow him to authentically communicate Biblical truths in a unique way. He has consulted for Dr. Tony Evans of the Urban Alternative, Point Ministries, and the CUTE Collection ministry. Ryan and his wife, Danielle, have 3 children-Noah, Mathai, and Judge. • - preparation precedes promise
    av Boniface Burton Shonga
    177

In the Gospel of Mark, chapter 1, verse 17, the Lord Jesus made a profound statement, "Come, follow me and I will make you to become fishers of men." He was speaking to rough Galilean fishermen who He intended to raise to become the very first pillars of the Christian faith. The bottom line is that these men had to be prepared before they could become leaders of the early church. Christ makes it clear that He was going to "make" these men, like a master sculptor who brings the best out of something that had no form. In this book we look at the preparation that makes a person fit for the task. Boniface was ordained to serve full time as Pastor at Kabwe Chapel in January 1991. After years of an illustrious career in education and industry he resigned to answer the call to serve the Lord full time. His immense gifting in teaching, preaching and motivational speaking inspired many at Kabwe Chapel and beyond which resulted in the growth of the congregation from a couple of hundreds to well over a thousand at the time he was being consecrated bishop, in December 2006, to oversee not just the local assembly but the whole family of churches planted under Rock of Hope Assemblies. He has been a frequent speaker at many church meetings and conferences in Zambia and abroad, including in South Africa, Congo, Malawi, Tanzania, England and USA, to mention prominent ones. He has recorded messages which were broadcast on several television and radio stations which have been blessing many. He also has a huge crowd of "disciples" on a popular social network. He has authored a book, "When Kings Dream" which has encouraged many readers. In a declared Christian nation that Zambia is, with many evangelical churches and anointed ministers, BB is considered a voice to the nation and a role model to many believers and non-believers alike. As a service to the community, he has chaired different boards of management both statutory and parachurch. He is married to Ethel who is also a gifted teacher of the word of God. They have four adult daughters.

  • - With Questions Aligned to State Exams
    av Dr Monica Barnes
    271

Father to the Rescue illustrates the thoughtfulness, consistent love, and wisdom modeled by God, our father, through the eyes of both the people and the animals on the journey. God was stirred to action when his children, who were being harmed by their cruel masters, sought His assistance. He came to their rescue with loving arms wide open and many ingenious and miraculous tactics in his bag to relieve their oppression. Father to the Rescue stimulates a reminder that God is available to us and that He will respond generously, in His time and manner, to our needs as we prayerfully seek Him. The text includes vivid illustrations of a portion of the Israelites’ journey from Egypt through the wilderness. Children will be exposed to Biblical lessons which enhance life and develop their intellect while completing independently or with an adult the questions which mirror those on state exams. Monica Barnes Ed.D. has spent over 17 years in public education teaching students from all exceptionalities as well as adults. She is passionate about Christianity and the encompassing influence it has on all aspects of the human condition. She believes all children can learn but most importantly considers education to be at its best when it contributes to the development of the whole person. She infuses Christian principles into education for cognitive and spiritual development.

Wouldn't you like for your children, and theirs, to avoid making the mistakes you made? Don't we all want future generations to be able to begin where we left off? This book was written for you, to those who hold the future, to give you keys to replicate the successes of godly men and women who have gone before you, and to go yet further. Each chapter is composed of three sections: accounts of a life of God-adventures, a short Biblical study based on those experiences, and personal exercises geared to help you discover and relate to God at a deeper level. The ultimate goal is to help you uncover the treasure God has hidden within you, the dreams He has placed deep in your heart. Then you can respond to the Lord's call to help Him design the future of your family, city, and nation. Thana Rolph grew up in rural Kansas. She taught high school English while raising three daughters. After the youngest daughter left for college, Thana and her husband Dick embarked upon a God adventure that has never ended. They helped smuggle Bibles into China, participated in a Discipleship Training School with Youth with a Mission, helped start a church in their home town, ran a Bible school in Mexico, taught pastors' seminars in Kenya, and were on church staff in Austin for several years. More recently, Thana served nine years on staff with Austin Bridge Builders Alliance.
