What a tragedy! King Hezekiah is given a fifteen-year extension to his life and at the same time is told that his sons would be taken into captivity in Babylon. His response - "That's fine. At least there will be peace and truth while I'm alive." Our absorption with the present has dulled our vision for the future. My prayer is that as you read this book you will be inspired to think generationally. You will discover: Seven symptoms of hypocrisy that nullify our influence and turn out the light of truth. Seven myths that have the sound of truth. Ideological weapons that subvert us and nullify the legacy of truth. Insights that will help you build a solid biblical foundation for a generational legacy. The book does not present quick fix solutions, however, It does challenge you to a way of life that crosses cultural traditions and transcends time. In the movie, I Can Only Imagine, Bart Millard, the composer of the song by the same title, is asked by Amy Grant how long it took to write the song. Bart's response is, "Maybe ten minutes." To which Amy Grant replies, "It didn't take you minutes; it took you a lifetime." How long did it take to write this book? A lifetime. It conveys: The wisdom of my father. The godly counsel of a spiritual father, Dr. Pickford. The encouragement of an older sibling, Eugene, and a "spiritual big brother," Bob Holmes. The influence of hundreds of authors too numerous to name. Godly children and their spouses who have encouraged me to write. Above all, the faithful support of my beloved wife who believed in me, stood with me and supported me in our journey together. May you extract from this book the grace of God that has been richly given through so many sources. Following graduation from Northwest Baptist Theological College in 1964, Duane began a mentoring relationship with a registered psychologist in Vancouver that would give him the equivalent of an MA in clinical psychology. He also took some selected courses from the U. Vic, UCLA and University of Minnesota. During this time, he was also pastoring. (1963-1981) 1963 - 1981 Pastored in Campbell River and Castlegar, BC 1981 - 2005 Established a private counseling practice in Vernon; 1983 - 2001 Adjunct faculty at King's Bible College; 1985 - 2005 Adjunct faculty at Living Faith Bible College; 1985 - (Present) Oversight to Churches in N.A. and overseas; 1991 - 2005 Adjunct faculty at GMF Christian University in Lagos; Worked developmentally with two registered psychologists in Lethbridge, AB; Conducted stress management seminars for hospitals and several companies plus leadership seminars for a variety of businesses and Churches. This book was created to cultivate the following values in the lives of God's creation: devotion, diversity, and discipleship. Every human being, regardless of race, has been created in the likeness of God. However, the world we live in can often be physically, mentally, and spiritually draining. It is very important to monitor and cultivate the soil of your personal thoughts. Your thoughts are intimately connected to your mindset, and your mindset manifests itself within your reality. What are you devoted to? Did you know that we are all devoted to something? This book will encourage you to devote yourself to God's word. Also, to be intentional about the various people you choose to surround yourself with. Monday's are mentally exhausting, and most of the world dreads going to work at the beginning of each week. Not you, this book has found you for a reason. The Monday Mindset is designed to give you a simple tool for renewing your thoughts heading into each week. One way to feed your mind with encouragement is by intentionally opening the Bible frequently throughout the week. The book is essentially a 52-week journey that will build your faith, inspire you to have courage, and uplift your thoughts throughout the year. Each week has a short lesson that concludes with a mindset renewal key to give you something to focus on. The Monday Mindset is a new way of thinking, that is biblically inspired, to help you transform the world around you. Together, we will change the world by changing the way we think to start each week! Thank you for purchasing the Monday Mindset. My name is Joshua Bugg and I am from Nashville, Tennessee. I have written this book in honor of God, my Grandmother Trudy, Mother Kathi, and Wife Kelly. I am currently a high school educator and basketball coach, with an undergrad in Secondary Education from Middle Tennessee State University. Afterward, I received my Master's in Biblical and Theological Studies from Trevecca Nazarene University."

  • - YOU Must Save America & the Family The Awesome Remedy
    av Dr Lloyd H Stebbins

"America is great, not because the people are great, but because God is great. Read Dr. Stebbins' book, Wake Up America-or Die! YOU Must Save America and the Family. You'll be glad you did!" Josh McDowell"What is the greatest threat to America's freedom today? In my opinion, it is the breakup of families. Throughout history, the unity of the family has been the backbone of all nations' strength. Read Dr. Stebbins book and you'll see what I mean. GOD must be America's number one priority!" Coach Bobby Bowden (Retired), Florida State Seminoles"By boldly brandishing the banner of faith in the arena of cultural restoration, this important volume reveals the road map to recovery and brilliantly inspires each of us to play our part. Every page carries valuable insights which will transform every reader." Rabbi Daniel Lapin"We can think of nothing more urgent at this critical hour than for believers to possess a Biblical worldview. Dr. Lloyd Stebbins hits the nail on the head with this powerful, educational, and insightful book. We encourage people to not just read what he's written, but to devour it!" David and Jason Benham"Dr. Lloyd Stebbins, with the unapologetic fury of a saint, dares to tell the truth about the overwhelming forces in our society that are moving us further and further away from God's truth. Wake Up America or Die is a sobering wake-up call for all who cherish traditional values. This book also offers real hope because when our problems come sharply into focus, so do the solutions." Dr. Jeff Winter, Pastor"Dr. Stebbins has written perhaps the most lucid book "destroying the wisdom of the wise and frustrating the intelligence of the intelligent" by presenting a blueprint for the renewal of human society. The secularists will be flabbergasted, but the faithful will recognize this continuation of the tradition of Kuyper, Chesterton, Schaeffer, and Colson." Dr. Eric Dent, University Professor"Like the Prophet Jeremiah, warning of impending doom, and lamenting over the consequences, Dr. Lloyd H. Stebbins hits the proverbial nail on the head in his book, 'Wake Up America-or Die! YOU Must Save America and the Family.' Blessed with an abundance of charts, graphs, and statistics, coupled with wisdom and humor, Dr. Stebbins immerses the reader in a realistic discussion of where we are, where we need to go, and the hope we have in our Great Creator and Omnipotent God. I especially appreciate how he looks to the Torah, in the Old Testament, for moral guidance and wisdom. I highly recommend this book to those seeking truth and wanting answers to life's predicaments." Yossi Laster, Messianic Rabbi

What is notable about your book is that it is consistently Bible-based in addition to using good techniques. Some very excellent items I really liked were: "Knowing when the wife needs his ear or a shoulder, and not just an answer." "A wife must understand her husband's need for respect." "Never discipline your children in anger." The pertinent summaries of what the Old Testament, Jesus, and the New Testament say about marriage are most helpful and relevant. Their insistence on repentance and ultimate freedom from addiction rather than condemnation. The section on steps to take during conflict resolution is significantly practical. They invoke forgiveness and immediate refusal to be offended. Cal Easterling, Ph.D.Professor of Sociology, Criminal Justice AdvisorOral Roberts University Carl and Charity have been married for over 35 years, they have three children and soon to be nine grandchildren. If you are anything like me, and we are all more alike than we think! You are running this race called life on auto pilot. I was married with a great husband, good career, and three babies before I realized I was a Christian based on rules and tradition not based on my relationship with God. I knew that I was saved, but I came to the realization that I was not fully surrendered to God. Who knew? I surely didn't!This book of short bible studies and prayers is for you, in whatever stage of life you are in. Each bible study examines the life of some of the main characters and not so main characters of the bible. Steal away and take the time to learn about different people in the bible, peek into their lives and learn about their godly greatness or their blatant evil. Look at the choices they made and ask yourself questions, am I like them or totally opposite? Is that good or not so hot? God created you, specifically, He wants you to receive all of the blessings, promises, and provision set before you from Him. God wants you to know Him fully for yourself, not based on what the Pastor or the Deacon says about him - But what you know about Him for yourself. Grab this book of bible studies today-begin to create or strengthen your foundation in God.This book is great for individual study and reflection, it's also great for bible study groups, men and women! Dive into the word of God today! This book of bible studies will help you align yourself with the word of God.Matthew 7: 7-8 "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. LaTasha Ellis grew up in a Christian home and started her career in the banking industry, got married and had three beautiful children. After several years of being in the financial Industry, LaTasha switched careers completely and went into the field of education. LaTasha is an author, speaker, and bible teacher. LaTasha enjoys traveling with her family, baking, reading and doing crafts with her children. My friend C.I. Dixon says that you can't climb a smooth mountain. I agree because on a smooth mountain you have no outcropping of rock or crevice from which to gain a stable foothold to start your climb. Most of us don't enjoy the valley experiences, and I am no exception, but it's in the valleys that we grow. From the Autobiography of Zig Ziglar If you want to have more "mountaintop experiences" in every area of your life this book is a must-read. I've known and worked with C.I. for more than 30 years. He is the real deal. Read his words and apply them to your life. You'll be glad you did.Rex Houze, FounderImproving Performance & Results In recent years many self-help books have been written which readers have adopted as a kind of religion or philosophy of life. This book is not intended nor directed at that purpose. You Can't Climb a Smooth Mountain, is a practical guide for people facing discouragement. This book is written for anyone who has become disheartened as a result of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, or who find themselves in a rut. Inside these covers you will find workable advice and uplifting insight to help you overcome the mountains standing in your pathway to success. Charles I. Is not wisdom found among the aged?Does not long-life bring understanding? Job 12:12 When Wisdom Speaks, Knowledge Listens, is a 52 Week Devotional Book filled with aspirations and declarations for your future. The ability to change your life is in what you listen to and honor. Knowledge is knowing when to listen. Wisdom is the principal thing and if you embody knowledge, you will listen when it speaks! This powerful devotional is inspired by my hero of a Father, the late honorable Bishop E. Floyd, Jr. He was the epitome of inspiration for his family, friends and all who encountered his presence. He was passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and its power to transform lives. Having a father's love is something every little girl should experience but having an elder who consistently fed wise words to me was even better. Some millennials in this generation have missed out on wise counsel. They may not take the time to understand the grammar, jargon or broken English of our ancestors who had so much wisdom. We don't hear those quiet whispers of wisdom any longer because grandfathers and grandmothers have quickly faded from the scene. During this journey, When Wisdom Speaks, Knowledge Listens, you will feel as if you have taken a trip down memory lane; thus, becoming encouraged to change your perception of how you endure life's challenges. This book found you! My prayer is that each week will increase your capacity for God, your relationship with Him and build your trust to follow His instructions. Come along with me and experience the journey of When Wisdom Speaks Knowledge Listens!

There are times in life when we have to make the tough decision to do what we know is right, even if it is looked down upon or condemned by others. My Journey in Ministry by Doris Johnson is one such story. Told by others that it was not her place as a woman to preach the gospel, Doris faced rejection and betrayal from those around her, even though she knew this was what God had commanded her to do. Through her obedience, however, Doris was able to step in to her calling and fulfill her purpose to help bring the lost into the kingdom of God. Hers is a story of redemption, reconciliation, and faith and will inspire and encourage those who have experienced similar struggles, reminding them that if they rely on the Lord and simply follow His voice, He will guide them every step of the way.

  • - Ruth: Ancestor of Christ Esther: the Queen Who Saved Her People
av D Min Paula Massie Oneal
    261

This user-friendly double volume is a chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse commentary on the only two books of the Bible that were named for women: Ruth and Esther. Information from both the books of Ruth and Esther, as well as other books of the Bible has been included. Quotes from a variety of biblical scholars and secular sources have also been used to explain and clarify ancient history, customs, and geography, as well as to verify the authors' narratives. This book is suitable for private devotions and Bible study groups. The Book of Ruth tells a wonderful story of God's provision for His people. In it, we see His provision for Ruth and Naomi. But as this new commentary by my friend Paula Oneal will reveal, behind the details of this story lies an even bigger story. For in His provision for Ruth, God was providing a king for Israel (David), and even more importantly, a Savior for His Church (Jesus Christ). Once again, Paula has done believers a great service in giving us a useful tool for understanding this marvelous story of God's grace. -Rev. Mike Moreau, Pastor, Central Presbyterian Church (PCA), Kingstree, SC. Again, Dr. Oneal gives us an outstanding source of information to continue our study of the Bible. This commentary is an excellent resource for those who want to grow in their understanding of the Book of Esther. I highly recommend this book by Paula Oneal. -The Rev. Bert Daly, Rector, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Starke, Florida Dr. Paula Oneal unpacks the books of Ruth and Esther skillfully, helping the reader see God's sovereign hand in the midst of adversity and bad choices. This commentary would act as a good addition to any library in furthering studies of the Redeemer. -Nicholas Sommer, Director of Youth and Family, Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA), Blairsville, Ga. THE CHRISTIAN AUTHOR AWARDS BOOK CONTEST FALL 2019: FIRST PLACE WINNER IN CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY This is a chapter-by- chapter, verse-by-verse commentary on THE BOOK OF ACTS, the fifth book of the New Testament. Life is for the living and with a lot of curves, and unfortunately some of us Christians fall and crawl through life because of our inability to recognise the Holy Spirit, and the reason why He is here. " I returned, and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill, but time and chance happened to them all". If we run and walk with Him, we will finish well, because He will pick us up when we fall or when we are tired of running the race set before us; that is why He is our Helper. His desire is that we do not give up, but fight and finish well so that we can receive the crown after crossing the finishing line, after all; we are the medals that Jesus will present before the Father on that day. Only those who endures until the end same will be saved.

We are the survivors of the COVID-19The DNA of the true God healed our bodies by the spoken Word of God. My husband and I married for forty-eight years, and were in a life-and-death situation, fighting for our lives with the COVID-19 disease. This is the true story of how we survived and our relationship with God that we have that saved both of our lives. We both explain our experiences of COVID-19 disease. It was hard to explain to our own children and grandchildren that we were sick with a COVID-19, along with double pneumonia and that we could die. It was hard for us to hear the sound of their cries and hearing them all saying, "God, surely not our mom and dad grandma and grandpa! Are you going to die?" We are pastors also, so telling are our church family over the phone that we are very sick with COVID-19 and how they reacted was difficult. "Imagine-are we going to lose both of our pastor?" Apostle Sara J Price and her husband Pastor Donnie Price say God let us live to tell our true story.

Both small and large churches have continued to experience challenges relating to a declining number of youthful congregants. St. Peter's Episcopal Church is an example of churches facing this challenge. The researcher was interested in examining the role of transformational leadership in preparing youth as future church leaders. The leadership model was considered to be suitable since it has the potential to encourage youth to attend church and to participate in leadership roles. A case study approach was adopted for this project. Seven pastors and seven youth were interviewed. A self-developed interview protocol was used to gather data from the participants. The project further included review of biblical passages and relevant literature concerning the topic of transformational leadership. The results revealed that transformational leadership practices, such as: empowerment, delegation, appreciation, encouragement of creativity, and articulation of clear goals have the potential to encourage more youth to take up church-related roles and to increase their church attendance. So this project is really a work in progress. With this small beginning, it is hoped that other church leaders will be empowered to help in the implementation of this work and engage in more research as we seek to empower our youthful congregants. Rev. Dr. Michael Kiju Paul was born in Kajokeji, South Sudan. His parents were members of the Episcopal Church and his early life was influenced by their faith and that of his maternal grandmother who played a big role in his early upbringing. Michael obtained B.A. in Theology (1995), M. A. in Missiology (1997), M.A. in Theological Studies (2000), M.A. in Pastoral Care & Counseling (2011), and Doctorate, Bethel University, St. Paul, MN, (2020). Michael has served as Pastor in Episcopal Churches in California, Washington, Minnesota, North Dakota, and is currently Rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church Wharton, Texas.

Is your heart longing for a thrilling, life-awakening adventure with God? One morning I was sitting on my comfy chair, the one where I often meet with God, when during my prayer time a picture came to me. I could see God's hand reaching down from heaven to meet my upstretched one. Then I saw the words, As Taught By My Father. God's message to me was startling, we would write a book together. The result? The book you are holding: a collection of stories from my life, and what God taught me through them. Can you see your life through heaven's perspective? What if God suddenly began to give you a revelation of His divine plan that would take you on an unexpected excursion with Him? Would you keep the highlights of the trip a secret from your family and friends? Do you realize that the stories of your life, if not told will be lost forever? Your spiritual legacy is a treasure that should be passed on to your future generations. Join me on this most incredible journey to the heart of God, then let His hand write your story!
