Brendan Conboy published his biography, 'The Golden Thread' in 2015. This is his continuing story and is an example of how God can still use us regardless of our weaknesses, disabilities, age and infirmities.Brendan lives with a life-limiting and disabling kidney disease. He has faced many life-threatening battles and persevered. Nearly died four times, been on life support twice. He has been in the well-known tunnel of light twice, the approach road to heaven. As well as his physical struggles, he has battled mentally, emotionally and spiritually.This story will inspire and encourage but most of all demonstrate how God looks at us and says, "You're still valued."

Unable to string two sentences together. It's fair to say that I hated writing. I couldn't see the point. I couldn't see the beauty. The beauty that lies in words. And the power. Words are so powerful. They can bring about change. They influence, but how did I change? Ten years after leaving school I read about Jesus. Not for the first time, but the words that I read came alive. This man Jesus felt real. So, I stepped into a relationship with Him. He came into my life and transformed my mind. Within a year I was writing rap songs, songs with a message. The words would just fall into my head, sometimes in bed or just walking the dog. It was as if a blockage had been removed. The songs that I wrote recorded and performed can be found at the end of this book. The cover of this book tells you that I am the author of this work. However, that is not strictly true. All of the words written here are inspired and given to me by God. I see myself simply as a conduit, a messenger and His instrument to be used. Thank you Lord God for speaking to me and for giving me ears to hear and a heart to receive. For giving me tools and skills, then telling me to use them for YOU.

The Bible is filled with many wonderful stories and I have many favourites. I particularly like the story of "Doubting Thomas," as I am sure that so many of us can relate to this. The Land of Make Believe is based on the story of Thomas in the Bible. Though it is a short story it is packed full of wonder, fun and enchantment. It is written in the style of rhyme, though it is not a nursery rhyme. It is suitable for children of all ages, including the 70-year old that wishes to feed the ''inner child.'' The colourful, humorous and expressive illustrations of Patsy Gamble, help to bring the story alive. If you like your stories with unicorns, dragons, flying pigs, a wizard, etc; then this is for you.
