As Grannie overhears a conversation taking place at the church, she wasn't pleased with what she heard. There's an old church in the center of Bay Street, and the steps of the church will become a platform as many from the community are down-town as the "My Way" community, and out-of-town visitors have an argument when it's said, "God doesn't support same-sex relationships."

Who am I and why am I here?June, Grannie's granddaughter, is having a hard time at school due to some classmates mistreating her. Then something is said, that causes June to get off the bus very upset. Does God really love me?Grannie's granddaughter June stays the night, and before heading to bed June is having fun teaching and showing Grannie her new iPod! At bedtime, Grannie shares a story about when she was a young girl and asked God, "do you really love me?" God, do you like to laugh?Grannie receives a call from Tyler, her grandson. During the call, Tyler asks about God and His laughter?" Grannie answers his question in such a way Tyler starts to laugh.

June said, "Grannie, the saddest thing happened at school today, and I didn't know what to do!" Grannie looked curious as she thought "what could've taken place?" Now that June is in middle school, she's starting to understand that everyone wasn't taught to love and be kind to others. Today June learns that her best friend is gay and has some deep questions for Grannie.

Grannie is more than a black woman on the cover of this book. The Author, Aria Suber, thought to change the cover after thinking many people might overlook ';Grannie Knows Best, but she said this picture was perfect! Inside the pages are situations that people encounter everyday and Grannie shares years' worth of knowledge with people of all ages, races, and backgrounds. The book doesn't stop there, along with the vibrant colors and tones of each character, the stories also have a way of showing the readers the simplicity of Jesus, how He works in our lives daily and how we can overcome any situation with biblical wisdom. Let's face it, in a world where race is a problem, it's good to see people from different races, backgrounds, and age groups brought together in one book. Grannie makes it her point to share biblical wisdom, be truthful and still have some sassiness about her character. We've heard the old saying ';you can't judge a book by its cover' and guess what you're right. Aria Suber did an excellent job writing a book that covers, college issues, changing for the better after jail, why we are here on earth, and if God will always love you. These short stories aren't your typical bible stories; theyre spiced up and eye opening for those willing to accept them.
