Om Anesthesia of pregnant women outside of childbirth
Pharmacological changes in anesthetic agents must be taken into account when performing anesthesia in a pregnant woman. No scheduled surgery should be performed during pregnancy unless it is vitally necessary. Locoregional anesthesia is the technique of choice in pregnant women, as it limits the exposure of the fetus to drugs, as well as the risk of fetal asphyxia; moreover, it avoids the maternal risks of difficult intubation and inhalation associated with general anesthesia in pregnant women.
