Comedies

This book presents the five Plautine comedies translated into English by Edward H. Sugden. Plautus's plays are the earliest complete surviving works of Latin literature and thus are invaluable in providing insight into the life of ancient Rome. Sundered lovers, scheming slaves, and pompous soldiers populate these comedies, which provide both a window into 2nd century BCE Roman culture and a good laugh.
