Om Compression evaluation of a concrete using recycled concrete
The main objective of this research is to evaluate concrete made with recycled coarse aggregates (recycled concrete) and fine aggregates to determine their physical properties both in the fresh and solid state. The recycled aggregates were obtained from the demolition product of road slabs. The material obtained from the sampling was taken to the materials laboratory of the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, Tampico Campus, for material characterization tests. After the material characterization tests were performed on the recycled concrete aggregates, crushed gravel, and fine aggregates, the concrete mix design was carried out according to the ACI method, proposing a strength of F'c = 250 kg/cm2. Finally, the cylindrical specimens were tested in compression, obtaining a result of 100.16% of the design strength proposed for the standard sample, and 84.87% for the sample with recycled concrete. When evaluating the physical and mechanical properties of the recycled concrete, it was concluded that it does not comply with the standards, however, it can be used for secondary structures.
