Om Corojo Palm as an alternative for sustainable agricultural development
The study of two species of corojo in Sierra de Cubitas, Camagüey, Cuba, is carried out with the objective of inserting them in a sustainable agricultural system. The ecological feasibility of the use of wild populations east and west of the Vilató Valley is highlighted, standing out the areas of Algibito, Brigadier and others. The oil is used in the manufacture of soaps and cosmetics, as well as by-products such as textile fibers, bleaches, cleaners and fertilizers.
