Om ...Do I Believe? Stories and Art by Survivors
Most burn injuries require some convalescence and serious burns can mean months in a hospital and years to stabilize. When patients enter the world again, they're often stressed. Having to deal with pain management, possible loss of housing, wages or unemployment issues pressing, parenting, career or school difficulties. The families and friends of survivors are also often just as stressed. Burn injuries affect loved ones because they take so long to heal. Portland Burn Survivors is here to help as survivors and their friends and families navigate long term challenges.
"...do I believe?" is an anthology about surviving a life altering injury; stories, poetry and art from survivors, their friends and families. From a woman in the USA burned this past year, to a Canadian author and motivational speaker burned as a child, to a model/photographer in the United Kingdom helping people redefine beauty. Twenty six artists share their points of view.
