INTRODUCTION: One must believe in something when things go wrong or go right for him or her. I have in my 81 years on this floating blue rock found that even when things appear to go very, very wrong, the Guardians have something better in mind for me, and I always come out ahead of the game and always end up where I should be. A BETTER PATH: And believe me, I have over the years tried to take different paths, only to be pushed, dragged, shoved, and pulled to the path for which I belonged; the path that gave me certain riches, be each monetary or just happiness. ARE THERE GUARDIAN ANGELS: I have seen much of the world, and have much more to see, so I trust that my Guardians will allow me to continue my travels and adventures in safety, and do so having much fun in the companionship of Iris. So friends, readers, and thinkers, did I convince you that there are Guardian Angels that are looking out for us, or am I still here against the odds solely due to luck? You be the judge

Tourism by High Speed RailThe United States of America is one of the most visited destinations for worldwide tourism, and most of the foreign tourist spend a thousand or more dollars on airfare, rental cars, motels, restaurants, entry tickets, gifts, etc., when visiting. The vast majority of these 'foreign' tourist are from countries like Japan, China, and Europe that has had U.S.A. designed (originally) HSR systems, and therefore are familiar with 'riding the rails'. These tourist are on strict timetables and do NOT have the time to drive many hours or days between U.S.A. tour locations, this is especially true of the American Southwest, where our National Parks (NPS) are few and far between. AirlinesOur airlines cater to our Business communities, and NOT to our tourist industry, therefore places like Tucson, Benson, Willcox, Tombstone, Sierra Vista, and Douglas, Arizona are NOT fully or at all served by most direct flight airlines, or any airline. AmtrakThere is Amtrak rail and there was in the past rail services to these popular tourist locations, but in most instances no longer. People Mover SystemA HSR People Mover System (HSRPMS) would open up these areas to tens of thousands of additional American and Foreign Tourist, thus bringing in millions of extra dollars to the local economies each year. Tourist LoopsThere are 'tourist' loops throughout the U.S.A., i.e., the Grand Circle Loop of the American Southwest that covers the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, the Grand Canyon (North Rim), Zion National Park, and Lake Powell AuthorThe author has been involved in the Railroad Industry for several decades, and is also a recognized author of quality tour and touring guide manuals. This manual is designed to provide you with needed and essential information when traveling to and touring Portugal. It provides the basics of rail travel in Portugal with link addresses to websites where you can obtain very detailed information. TRAIN TICKETSThere is a segment on how to use the CP.pt ticketing machines or how to order tickets on-line. AIRPORT INTERFACEThere are a few pages about the airports and how each interfaces with the Portugal Metro system. METRO SYSTEMSLisbon and Porto have subway systems that are termed the 'Metro' and each has its own stops, ticketing systems, and schedules. This manual will aid you in understanding the METRO. KEEPING INFORMEDHow to register for CP.pt information email is included RULESWhat you can or can not do when riding the rails in Portugal is included. HISTORIC TRAINSPortugal's has three historic trains that you may consider riding on, and the manual provides you with boarding information. INTRODUCTIONI started this book three weeks before the May 2020 protest and riots began, and hope that the world has seen and will seek solutions to the differences between races that have affected lives in precarious ways. GREAT HISTORYSeveral decades ago we embarked on a historic journey, that of putting a man on the moon. The day that it happened the world stood still, there we were for the first time in our history looking at this little blue marble we call home. We on that day sat together as people of the earth, not as enemies, or political foes, or different religions, or separate races, but as one. NOT SO GREAT HISTORYThis text, American Racism throughout our History, is a sampler of the decades the US has been a nation and how we treated newcomers as we sought to protect our jobs, our lands, and our way of life. We invited immigrants when we needed their skills and muscle, but then told them to leave after we had what we desired. We outright refused many immigrants from entering our nation, and we interned many that were here as we cowered in fear. See author's book 'American WWI & WWII Internment Camps' for an example of how we treated foreigners that actually helped build our nation. POLITICAL & RELIGIOUS LAWSWith the help of our religions and governments we passed laws that restricted the rights of individuals and entire races. With the help of our media and politicians we created distain and hate for many that were here or whom desired to immigrate here. MEDICAL INFLUENCEWith the help of our medical establishments we illegally sterilized many, and we experimented on those we felt were not suitable for being in our population. AUTHOR'S HOPE I did not research and write this to badmouth races or individuals, but to inform you, my reader, of our history with the hope that you will do something to prevent any and all of these occurrences from ever happening again. Will you?

INTRODUCTIONThere is a flood of information on the Internet that attempts to inform people about how to buy, sell, and maintain a vehicle, be it a car, van, truck, RV, or other vehicle. The unfortunate part is that it may take you not hours, but days to assemble all this information into a document that may save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Now you do not have to spend those hours as I have done it for you. ARE YOU GETTING BURNTThis manual is the result of years of experience, days of research, and hours of compiling. It is designed to help the first time buyer understand the vehicle market and how to maneuver into it and though it without getting burnt. INDUSTRY TRICKSThe industry has over the years developed all sorts of 'tricks' to part you from your money when buying, selling, trading, or maintaining a vehicle. They use acronyms to keep you from knowing what they are talking about; they use 'add-ons' to increase the price of both new and used vehicles; they use high pressure sale's techniques to force you into making a poor decision, and they use your lack of knowledge about what you are about to purchase to their advantage. BOOK COVERClick on the Amazon Read Me book cover and take a look inside this manual to understand how it may save you or yours money. GREAT GIFTThis manual makes a great birthday, graduation, or holiday present for anyone you feel is about to commit his or her hard earned money to the purchase of a vehicle that can cost many thousands of dollars. THANKSPS. If you like the manual, if you saved money using the enclosed techniques, and if you learned more about the vehicle you are driving, then please recommend the manual to others, and complete the Amazon review. Thanks!

INTRODUCTIONThere are several guidebooks for locating tourist railroads and train museums, but few if any provide anything more than a simple address. This e-book guide provides the user with a 'Turn-by-Turn' road guide w/GPS from the closest Interstate junction to the destination.VISITING TIPSThe guide is for the western states and part of Canada, and it shows the names and addresses, but also Cautions, the permanent closures, and the sites that have different names for the same site.SAMPLE DESCRIPTIONSThe guide has sample descriptions from the Official websites when possible, and the author's notes about many of the sites.TURN-BY-TURN DIRECTIONSAlthough GPS of each intersection is provided, a person that does not have GPS can easily follow the road turn-by-turn descriptions.13-STATESThere are over 150 sites listed for the 13 states and Canada. INTRODUCTIONThis short manual contains information that many already know, and information that many do not know. It is about our transportation systems, our roads, and our past, current, and future means of moving people and goods from point 'A' to point 'B'. MATERIAL COSTIt looks at the materials we use for building our transportation systems, our means of transportation on land, and the massive cost in lives and money we incur in our attempts to maintain our systems. EISENHOWER's LIE AND MISTAKEThe author describes the mistake we made in the late 1950s and he provides a thought on how to proceed for the next 100 years, i.e. the PODS Transportation System. PODSThis is a chapter on the Point to Point Transport of Goods that we can be using that will provide us with better food, faster just in time productions, and less transportation cost. ELIMINATION OF ROADSCan we develop a transport system that eliminates roads, the author believes this can be done. VEHICLE TRAVELThere is a chapter on the Advantages of Vehicle Travel as well as chapters on eliminating personal and corporate vehicles in lieu of high-speed rail, people movers, freight movers, drones, and other transport types. DO YOU HAVE AN IDEAThis is light reading that is designed to be read by all ages, and designed to encourage all to look at our transportation system, and hopefully think about possible changes that can be incorporated for our future, world wide.

Tourism the Number One IndustryThe number one industry in the US is tourism when you count the dollars earned by the restaurants, hotel and motels, airlines, road systems, attractions, and park systems. Other NationsIn Japan, China, Europe, and other nations the governments and companies have come to the conclusion that moving large amounts of people, citizens as well as tourist, is a good method of increasing tourism as time is valuable, and saving an hour or two on a tour or trip can mean more time, and money, spent at a resort, attraction, etc. High Speed Rail and TourismThis short booklet promotes High-Speed Rail and the pros and cons of developing it for our US citizens, and for our visiting tourists that are familiar with rail travel and may prefer it to trying to learn our roads and driving habits. Portugal and ItalyItaly has a vast network of high speed rail that allows a traveler to move from destination to destination in comfort at from 135 to nearly 350 MPH. The author in 2022 toured Portugal over a 21 day period and added thousands of Euros (USD) to their economy. He and his companion traveled in comfort, relaxed, and safe via Portugal's up and coming high speed rail system. From the northern to the southern tips of Portugal; from the Atlantic to the Spanish border, the trains provided low cost, convenient, and on-time service. The Future of HSRWe in the USA need to start competing with the Chinese, French, and the Germans as HSR is being adapted and is needed for transportation world wide, as well as in the US if we want to keep our tourist trade alive. HOT MINERAL SPRINGSMany have seen the hot mineral springs in Yellowstone National Park and I am sure some who did, wished that he or she could enjoy a dip in the therapeutic waters. Well in Yellowstone there is one place where you can bath in a hot mineral spring. Throughout the western United States there are thousands of natural mineral springs due to the geography of the west coast and its volcanoes, faults, and plate tectonics. Many of these are suitable for bathing; many are not due to temperature, location, diseases, and mineral contents. INTERNET SEARCH & AUTHOR'S COMMENTSIf you do a search on the Internet you will find several websites and books on popular hot springs in the USA. Most though only present a small handful of locations and some pretty pictures of water and rocks. This book contains over 260 hot spring locations, and no pictures of water and rocks that would increase the cost of this book considerably. (Amazon charges more for color, and thus this book would cost nearly double the current asking price) The manual is not intended to satisfy all readers, it is written to provide the reader with a good overview of what is available. The author has been to a few of the locations during his many decades on this planet, but it is not within his ability to go to all those that are listed, and he therefore used Google Maps(TM) during his several weeks of research of places you might be interested in exploring. PHONE NUMBERS & COST: There are many Hot Spring resorts listed, and the listings do NOT contain phone numbers or other specific resort contact information as these items can change from day to day. The cost to use any of the facilities is not in this manual for the same reasoning. DESCRIPTIONS: The author thus provides the resort or site name and a brief description of what you may expect to find at each. It is up to the reader to do further research to discover if a site is what he or she desires. Note: that this is not a published book that has many pages of 'fluff' that fills up costly printing space. HOT SPRING LOCATIONS: This manual has over 260 natural and commercial hot spring sites as follows: AZ (18): CA (37): CO (23): ID (38): MT (12): NV (19): NM (27): OR (35): SD (4): UT (13): WA (13): WY (7) and you can bath in each of these, for free or for a fee depending on the hot spring or resort. CAUTION: If you are going to Yellowstone National Park, then there are 16 that you should consider viewing, and one that you should consider as a spot to take a dip in a Yellowstone NP hot mineral spring. (Note: that recent floods (July 2022) have closed some roads, perhaps permanently) HOT SPRING RESORTSThis manual provides you, the reader, with the popular name of an existing hot spring or resort; the alternate (usually local name) name, a short description of the site, necessary cautions or rules, and the address with GPS of the site. If special directions for getting to the site are needed, each is supplied. Some sites need reservations, some restrict the number of guest, and some have extras like RV and tent camping, restaurants, gift shops, cabin or room rentals, games, rides, etc. and this information is part of the description. In addition, there is a chapter on using the springs, and one on part of the history of some of the springs. COMMERCIAL PAYMENTS TO AUTHOR: Note that no commercial or private property site has contributed to or paid the author for their mention in this manual; the author's descriptions and comments are based on sources like Google(TM) and Google Maps(TM), Internet websites, and other research.

INTRODUCTIONNew Jersey is the 'Garden State' as it is in the Northeastern US, but due to it being surrounded by the Delaware River to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east and south it is fairly temperate and thus 'Green' in some areas, even in the middle of the winter. The state has a long history of supplying vegetables and other food items to New York City and Philadelphia and thus became their 'Garden'. The northern part of the state around the NYC area is today very industrialized. The southern part is more farmland and woodland, coupled with the bogs or swamp like areas. FROM FARMS TO TOURISMBack in the past the southern part of the state in addition to farming was a good 'iron producer' and iron pots and pans were top selling items. Over the decades the iron panned out and the people needed a new industry, and that turned out to be window glass and glassblowing. As this too slowed the area turned to 'tourism' and today is a major tourist location on the east coast of the US. HUNDREDS OF ATTRACTIONSThis touring guide covers the state from Trenton and I-195 south to Cape May and it may very well be the most concise touring guidebook you shall find as it covers several hundred interesting attractions and places to stay or visit. VINEYARDSFor those that enjoy a good glass of wine there is Chapter # 18 - Vineyards that provide you with the names and addresses of twenty great vineyards that you can visit. MILITARY HISTORYThere is a section on Sandy Point that may interest those that like military history. RAILROADS AND RAILROAD MUSEUMSThere is a chapter on railroads and railroad museums that should be a delight to see by children and adults alike. Here is an example of the detail included in this touring guide. "Tuckahoe Village Train StationThis is now part of the Seashore Lines railroad that provides 30-mile round trip rides between Richland Village and the Tuckahoe Village Train Station. The Seashore Line is the child of the 1930s Pennsylvania - Reading Seashore Lines, the Reading Company and the Pennsylvania Railroad and the ride takes you back in time. You also get to see the 'crossing watchman's shanty' and the concrete bridge abutment that carried the Pennsylvania's double track electrified line over the Reading Company's double track line. Plan on two or more hours. 1272 Harding Hwy, Richland, NJ 0835039.492282, -74.871905" NOT INCLUDED IN BOOKSPersonal preferences for places to stay, things to do, and items to eat are just that, personal preferences and this author does not pretend to know yours. Hotels and Restaurants are varied and numerous in the New Jersey area and you should not have trouble finding the facilities that are suitable to your taste. Hotels and Restaurants go in and out of business, change ownerships and staff, and what may be great one day may be poor the next. Therefore this author does not include these in any of his many touring manuals. TOC & INDEXComprehensive and easy to use.

INTRODUCTION: The book is designed to show how a secure border wall and high-speed rail security system can be built. A Border High-Speed Rail System that is self-supporting and can provide opportunities and jobs for tens of thousands of citizens on both sides of the U.S.A. / Mexican Border and throughout the Americas, jobs that can be expanded into the millions over the decades. HSR REASONS: One of the prime reasons for the development of a Border High-Speed Rail System is that it spurs on advancement between nations in the western hemisphere and beyond. It can produce product made in America that can be exported to all nations. CAUTION: We are close to losing the HSR market due to isolationism as it is, and due to the inability for our citizens to see the future beyond our borders. Other nations are younger than we in terms of technology, construction, transportation, communications, education, etc., and are fast catching up and surpassing us on all fronts. We need to develop advanced technology and procedures that spring us years ahead of them, and the idea presented is just one thought that can work, and that can improve the lives of millions. HSR TYPES: This book includes the various types of HSR that can be considered, built, and funded by governments, private corporations, public investors, and citizens on both sides of our southern border. NATIVE AMERICANS: There are several Native American reservations along the border and they can greatly benefit from having HSR provide access to their needs. NATIVE MEXICANS: There are several Native American reservations along the border and they can greatly benefit from having HSR provide access to their needs. US MILITARY: Our US Military will benefit in that it can move troops from coast to coast with their equipment in hours, not days. FOOD PRODUCTION: Using HSR from San Diego to Brownsville can reduce millions of tons of perishable food waste due to long delays in the moving of the products from the source to the retail establishments. WATER: Using the right of way, we can pump sea water to distillation plants along the entire HSR path, this water can be used for farming, manufacturing, and much more, thus energizing the now nearly wastelands of desert along the path. POWER: The project can bring safe, clean, environmentally green energy to millions of people while also powering the HSR system. SECURITY: The border will become harder to cross as one will have to cross HSR tracks that can be constructed to prevent people crossing, but still allow water, airflow, and wildlife crossing. Additionally, the addition of power, water, and transportation along the entire length of the border will vastly reduce the need for unwanted immigration, gun, and drug smuggling. AUTHOR: The author, William (Bill) C. McElroy is the author of Fences and Retaining Walls, The Painter's Handbook (Craftsman Book Company), and The Roof Builder's Handbook (Prentice Hall). He is the co-author of Electrical Blueprint Reading (Craftsman Book Company) and he has designed and built homes and duplex homes as well as having done extensive remodeling of both Row and Single-family homes. He has worked in highly technical industries for several decades and helped put a man on the moon, and a rover on Mars. He is a USAFSS veteran, and has owned and managed several businesses. Additionally, he has taught highly technical subjects in private industry, public schools, and at the Pentagon, and has over 45 semiconductor equipment manufacturing patents accredited to his name.

INTRODUCTION: Sales and Advertising are essential in operating a business, obtaining a job, and making money. Too many contractors and others are very good at their jobs, they may even be considered to be 'experts' at what they do, but if they cannot promote their services to others, it does not put money in their pockets. SALES vs. CONS: There are plenty of con-men out there in the world, and some make out quite well financially, but do you really want to 'cheat' people or do you want people to respect you and source you and your product? Sales is a technique about how to provide a service or product to a person that has wants and needs, but is uncertain about if you are the person that should be supplying his or her wants and needs. This guidebook will help you to help him or her eliminate that uncertainty. HISTORY OF AUTHORThe author in his youth was very good at his trade, but when he went into business for himself he realized that if no one knew about him, he was not going to succeed. The author therefore took college level classes in business management, sales techniques, advertising and marketing, and not only ran a successful small business, but hired many and eventually ran a multi-million dollar company that employed several hundred American workers. PUBLISHED AUTHOR / INSTRUCTOR: He has during his career started several businesses, and his knowledge of how to close a sale has helped not only him make a decent living, but also helped those that he mentored, leading to him having several professional contracting publications placed on the market by publishers like Prentice Hall, Family Handyman, Amazon, and Craftsman Books. The author taught at B.O.C.E.S. in New York State, and at RETS in Pennsylvania. He taught students age 14 to 75 Residential Electrical Wiring, Computer Repair, Communications Equipment Design, Algebra, Transistor Circuit Design, Old House Reconstruction, Drywall and Flooring Installation, and plumbing. In addition, he taught classes at the US Pentagon in Washington D.C., and high-end electronics and Integrated Circuit design and equipment design in private industry. CLOSE THE SALE: This booklet is designed for the novice, the semi-pro, and the professional contractor or person that needs tips on how to advertise and sell his services, and then 'Close the Sale' at a profit. Do you want to learn how to close the sale, or do you think you already know how? Are you costing yourself expanded profits by not knowing what the professionals know? Give it a try; it is easy reading and great information.

INTRODUCTIONBuying and selling properties can be a lucrative activity that may be right for many people, or it can be a disaster when not thought out and done correctly. The temptation of getting 'rich' quickly is a human trait that sucks many into making mistakes that should never have been. This manual is about 'Buying and Flipping Houses' and was compiled by the author that has designed, purchased, rehabbed, and sold both residential and commercial properties. AUTHORThe author, William (Bill) C. MISTAKESHis knowledge, and his extensive research into the field may save you from making the mistakes that he and others have made. Fortunately for the author, he learned the techniques that allowed him to profit from each property, and then retire to write this manual that may save you time, energy, and your life savings. FINANCING One of the first items to understand is financing and where to obtain the money for the purchase. This manual provides several methods that you should enquire about. TIMINGNot understanding or properly scheduling the material, labor, inspections, or miscalculations can easily mean the difference between making a livable wage and profit, and going to the poor house as you are being sued by many of the workers and creditors. This book provides an idea of the timing and its pitfalls that you need to avoid. INSPECTIONSWhen building from scratch or doing a rehab you will be watched and controlled by the building inspection department in the township or city where you are doing the work. Inspections can cost you profits, and can result in major rebuilds of areas of the construction, thus you need to understand the reasons and the techniques for working with these men and women that are paid to verify your work. PERMISSIONSThis can be a pain that will cost you days to weeks of losses. You need to understand the local laws and authorities that provide the permissions to do things like put up a fence, select paint color, do landscaping, etc. This manual provides some insight into whom you must see and work with, if you want to limit delays and increase profits. COST OVERRUNSFrom my and many other's experiences you will have cost overruns where you figured it would cost $XXX and it actually cost $XXXX. This manual will help you to understand what can go wrong and how you can prevent it, or at a minimum prepare for it. Example of some of the text> "Section 06 ... Hazmat Items: Older buildings frequently were constructed with what at the time was considered safe materials, but over the decades it has been found that the materials are a hazard to the health of those occupying the premises. Items like Asbestos (Up to 1984), Lead paint, lead pipes, etc. may require Hazmat authorized personnel to come to the building and remove the offending materials." "Other items that can delay construction or add to the cost are Radon, Mold, Mildew, and Virus contamination, each of which will have to be eliminated." TOC & INDEXThere are comprehensive Table of Contents and Index so you can locate subject matter in seconds.

INTRODUCTIONThe Dead Blue is about our environment, both our Blue Sky and our Blue Oceans that are dying due to the presence of humans on the planet. Humans have needs of housing, food, trade, energy, and transportation and we have in the short time we have been on this little floating Blue Rock sought and found each. Unfortunately, in our quest for a better life and living conditions we have exploited the planet on which we live, and in many instances destroyed portions of it. We are now up to over 6.3 Billion strong, and there are probably 10 times that population in wild and domestic animals, and each being produces methane a gas that contributes to the Greenhouse Effect that is causing Global Warming. WEATHER EVENTSWe also are by choice or accident polluting our water and air with chemicals, plastics, and all sorts of human waste, i.e. junk as we consume just about everything we touch. Think of it this way, the recent hurricanes put furniture, food, paints, household chemicals, appliances, vehicles, building materials, toys, electronics, and millions of tons of other consumables into our oceans, lakes, and rivers. Water is corrosive and each of these items will eventually dissolve and settle to the bottom of our waterways and thus, choke off plant life and oxygen to marine life, the very marine life we depend upon for our survival. POSITIVE CHANGESWe have and are changing the earth, and not always in a positive way, and we need to wake up to the facts, and make positive changes to the way we live, manufacture things and food, and transport ourselves from place to place. This short booklet hopefully may provide some ideas on how to do this, and someone with more resources than I may become wealthy solving our environmental problems as we attempt to save mankind from his or her own destruction. ENVIRONAMENTAL LAWSThis booklet covers many of the environmental laws, including actions we need to take to prevent further destruction of our water supplies and our marine life that substances a vast worldwide population. LETTERSIncluded are letters from President Obama, Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr, Allyson Schwartz, Senator Bob Casey, Amanda Starbuck, Kyle Ash, Kevin Knobloch, and Rodger Schlickeisen all people in power that believe in protecting our environments and its water supplies. WHAT CAN WE DOSection # 11 has over twenty-four proposals that we can consider for our future.
