The big thing about Freddy is that he loves Grandpa Otto Binns. He and Grandpa live in Big Blue, a house that sits on top of a hill. Susan, his granddaughter, lives in the back apartment. When Grandpa locks the door of Big Blue to trick-or-treaters, we see that he is a bitter old man. Otto's sisters, Violet and Rose, coax him to knit hats for the Christmas carolers. The problem is that he has only 4 days to finish 15 hats. He only has enough yarn for 1 hat, and there is an impending nor'easter. Cars can't get up the hill in snow.He completes one hat and, feeling hopeless, tosses the scraps into Freddy's cage. Otto goes to bed and has a nightmare about not finishing the hats. Anxious, Freddy spins on his treadwheel. The red and green yarn scraps get twisted in the treadwheel, creating new yarn. Grandpa Binns discovers this twisted yarn in the morning. Amazed, he knits the hats with it. There were more than enough hats for the carolers, who came to Big Blue to begin their night of caroling. After they left with their new hats, the carolers spread the story of Grandpa and Freddy's twisted yarn. One year later, Grandpa has become more loving; he welcomes trick-or-treaters to Big Blue.

The Magnanimous Penny Campaign is the second book in the Coco Series. It depicts the life of twelve-year-old Coco Shantrel Dubois, a young philanthropist, who initiates a Penny Campaign with the support of her loving parents, the principal, the staff, and all the students at Garrison Elementary School. About the Author Sheryl Tillis is a former teacher with a BS degree in Special Education. As a young child, she learned from her mother how to give away all sorts of items. The word "philanthropy" became essential to her as she began traveling twenty years ago. Back then, she started leaving a pair of shoes behind for the maid who was assigned to her room. This philanthropy spiraled into giving away clothing. The idea of leaving shoes was the catalyst for writing her very first book, "Leaving My SHOES Behind." Whenever family or friends come to visit, they are given the gift of love.

  • - Through the Eyes of Teens
    av Tamara Banks Molano
    261

These are not just faces in a yearbook. They are faces in the Book of Life. They are not unlike the many faces you see in school every day. Behind every pair of eyes is a different story - some stories more tragic than others, but all of them familiar. Just to describe a few: Ishmael was kicked out of his home, Esther carried the weight of her family on her shoulders, David felt overlooked, and everyone was talking about Mary behind her back. The God who knew you before you were even a seedling also knew that you would need someone your age to relate to. His Word is not too old or too ancient to reach the troubles you have today. With Scripture readings, lessons, memory verses and journaling, The Bible: Through the Eyes of Teens promises to refresh and encourage your young soul. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Tamara Molano has a true passion for teaching young people about the Lord, since she accepted Jesus into her own heart as a youth and was baptized at age sixteen. Her heart for middle school and high school ministry has led her to serve in youth ministries off and on for nearly a decade. The mom of one is currently a youth leader, teacher and intercessory prayer warrior at her home church in Long Beach, CA.

  • - With Twelve Faithful Friends
    av Michael L Sales
    247

In 2013, I went in for an angiogram to determine if I needed a stent for a blocked artery. I clearly remember the doctor halting the procedure with the words "Mr. Sales, you're not getting a stent; you are going to have bypass surgery." I had five blocked arteries! I got a hospital room, but no surgeon. The surgeon they wanted was unavailable. So, there I sat in my room, waiting for my surgery. With five days to wait, I also had plenty of time to pray. I made a prayer request. "Lord, when they take out my heart to do what is needed... put something new in with it." Little did I know, as I began my recovery with long walks on the walking trail that ran behind my house, I was about to discover that something new. I had never written a poem in my life. Then one day, on one of my walks, it came-my first poem. Since then, I have been the recipient of many poems, along with a host of short essays. They have introduced me to twelve faithful friends who both advise and stand guard in my life. They offer inspiration, observation, insight, and wisdom, along with some rhyme. Join me with some of these faithful friends, and let's go for a walk! Michael Sales earned his degree in Business Administration / Accounting from the University of North Texas. He also added enough hours in Religious Studies to have completed a second degree. As a CPA, he has enjoyed a diverse and intriguing career serving as the Chief Financial Officer and senior executive for several large and prestigious corporations. Michael has been responsible for and deeply involved in almost every discipline of business including sales, human resources, marketing, information technology, finance and accounting, and operations. He has also served as Senior Pastor for over 20 years, financial advisor and board member for several religious and educational organizations, and has managed numerous construction projects as architect, designer, and general contractor. Along with ownership in several businesses, he is currently serving as part of the pastoral team at GracePoint Fellowship in McKinney, Texas.

  • - Amazing Supernatural Encounters with Jesus
    av Victoria Udo
    247

This book is an illustration of Psalm23, "... Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me...". This book shows how God in His great love and infinite mercies took care of a fatherless child in Africa, protected her during the Biafran war, fought for her in the University and finally gave her a home in America!! God is still the great God of wonders who closed the mouth of lions. He is not only the God we read about on the pages of Scripture but the one who has shown up in many supernatural encounters in this book to prove His Name. Jesus is truly the Savior, who changed the author's life, rescued her from bullets in a jungle farm, sent heavenly messengers to her to bring several messages of hope and deliverance, and constantly gave her guidance. God comes through at His time and it wipes away the tears of waiting. We have to set our priorities right: "seeking first the kingdom of God...", walking with Jesus each day, reading the Word and praying regularly so as to be guided. We must invite others to Jesus as we travel to heaven. This book reminds the Body of the renewed call to prevailing prayer. Good success is not measured by how much wealth we amass, but by our faithfulness to Jesus, knowing that this world is not our home. The author also wants to share with the world, God's warning of "an impending doom", the need for sincere repentance and living in daily obedience to Him. In times of fears, Jesus always shows up to deliver even if it seems to delay. The many supernatural interventions in this book confirms this. Victoria Udo has been a born-again Christian for 50 years. She has served as Principal in Africa and America in Christian and Public schools. She is a poet, song writer to exalt Jesus, teacher trainer and motivational speaker. She founded Life Bridges International, a vehicle to bless school children worldwide. She is happily married to Dr Okon Udo and together they have five children with many grandchildren. They live in Southern California. She has studied in Nigeria and America and has a global understanding of children's needs. Her hobby is photography and believes in the power of prayer.

• - THE CALL TO BE DISCIPLES: Reflections on What It Means to be a Christian
    av Fr Stavros N Akrotirianakis
    331

"There is no better way to live than as a disciple of the Lord Jesus. But how do I actually do that? Fr. Stavros Akrotirianakis offers a simple but not simplistic path for those who desire to embark on the greatest adventure of thus life." - Fr. John Riccardo, Executive Director of ACTS XXIX Forty days after His Resurrection from the dead, Jesus gathered His Disciples and "commissioned" them to go out into all the world and spread the Gospel to all nations. Many of them were illiterate fishermen. Not one held a degree from an advanced Rabbinical school. And yet these men took the Christian message and shared it with the whole world. With faith, they changed history and have led billions of people to salvation. We too are enjoined to cultivate disciples. However, before we can make others disciples or spread the message of salvation, we ourselves need to become disciples - students of the Gospel. Before we can become students, we must answer the call to be a follower of Jesus. And before we can become a true follower of Jesus, we have to understand who Jesus is. Engaged: The Call to Be Disciples contains 130 short reflections offering practical instruction on what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It begins by reflecting on the simple question: Who is Jesus Christ? Fr. Akrotirianakis discusses the costs and benefits of being a disciple. His reflections on prayer and stewardship build to the final section on rallying and sustaining confidence in our Christian walk. Although written by a Greek Orthodox priest, this provocative work offers inspiration for Christians of all denominations of what it means to believe, belong and follow. Father Stavros N. Akrotirianakis is a Greek Orthodox Priest who serves St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Tampa, Florida. He has also authored the books Let All Creation Rejoice: Reflections on Advent, the Nativity and Epiphany; The Road Back to Christ: Reflections on Lent, Holy Week and Pascha; Blessed is the Kingdom, Now and Forever: Reflections on the Divine Liturgy; and Let Us Be Attentive: Reflections on the Sunday and Feastday Scripture Readings of the Orthodox Church. He writes a daily reflection called "The Prayer Team" which can be found at www.prayerteam365.com

  • - sins that so easily beset us
    av Thelma P Oyesiku
    247

Have you ever wondered why people go through the same cycles over and over again in their lives? Are you one of these people? Do you feel trapped and unable to escape the cycles? In Fugitives of the Heart, Thelma Oyesiku reveals the causes of these cycles and demonstrates how they stem from the condition of the heart. Once we really tackle its contents and surrender them, only then can we break these cycles. Fugitives of the Heart reveals how we let our flesh get in the way of our spiritual growth and it gives us tools on how to change that narrative. In order for us to obtain more of God, we need to cut ties with these fugitives that are occupying precious space in our hearts. God has provided everything we need for this life, and we need to start tapping into these provisions fervently to be counted as loyal and devoted sons and daughters of God. We pray that you will take this journey with us to discover these fugitives, displace them and set Jesus as the center of your heart. It is never too late. May God ignite in you a desire to love him more than anything this world can offer! Thelma Oyesiku is an intercessor who loves the kingdom of God. Her desire and passion are to see the Bride of Christ fully embrace their identity in Christ and walk in it. She is a wife to Christopher and mother of two children. JUAN 14:26 RVR1960

I feel that I was called with the mission in life to edify others with the living word of God in these times where there is a pain in so many lost people. God Manifests himself in many ways and in my case I want to honor all those who were a part of my growth and even inadvertently forged my character. I was always downcast and in fear, but God protected me and filled me with the courage. The pain and the processes brought me closer to Christ. I did not have a mother or a father who guided me and only in Christ did I get my sanity, my identity, my worth, and my strength. I feel I was pampered by God. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." • - Revised 20 Years Later PROOF!
    av G F Watkins
    247

G-MEN was nominated as the up-and-coming ministry of the year in 2001 by the National Coalition of Men''s Ministries. Now, 20 years later, we have compiled the evidence which we believe proves it was and is in fact God''s strategy to save our world! The G-MEN strategy provides a plan for discipling new converts - and now 20 years later, we have the proof! Mapped out step by step, these practical applications bring order, build the church, and take the Gospel to the world. G.F. Watkins is an international leader, speaker, visionary, church planter, and an author of seven books. From his humble beginnings as a high school coach, G.F. went on to plant churches around the world starting with Powerhouse Church in Katy, Texas, Powerhouse Namibia, and Powerhouse Peru. As a spiritual son to the late Dr. Edwin Louis Cole, father of the modern-day men''s movement, G.F. Watkins'' principle of ministry and church planting is the restoration of the world through the restoration of the man. This fundamental belief birthed the worldwide movement known as G-MEN and then as Man Church over 20 years ago. G-MEN strategy and Man Church teach that manhood and Christlikeness are synonymous. It is the foundation on which all of Powerhouse Churches and its covenant churches are built on. Reach the man, change the family; change the family, change the church; change the church, change the community; change the community, change the city; change the city, change the state; change the state, change the nation; change the nation, change the world. It all begins with men taking responsibility for the world around them. After pastoring Powerhouse Katy for 20 years and planting churches around the globe, G.F. stepped into the role of an apostolic leader and coach through his organization The Genesis Team. The Genesis team serves as a covering and a resource to pastors and their families. G.F. travels the world equipping leaders, developing, and growing strong men''s ministries, and impacting the world with the gospel. She woke to discover that she was in a hospital, that she had amnesia and her name was Helen Mitchell. She was also told that she was engaged to the incomprehensible Reid Spencer. Because she didn''t know where she lived, she was coerced into going home with Reid. If it weren''t for Carolyn, Reid''s mother, she wouldn''t have gone. She could have easily withstood Reid''s criticism, but Carolyn''s heartfelt plea touched her heart, and she gave in.Reid''s Jekyll-Hyde attitude confused and dismayed her. In the moments when he treated her with gentleness, she could understand why she had apparently accepted his proposal. However, those moments were few and far between. When she accidentally discovered she was an artist, Carolyn urged her to use her art to recover her memory.Could it be true? Could her art unlock her memories? And if it did, what would it reveal? I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I started writing when my children were young. I was feeling the need for adult conversation and discovered romance novels. After voraciously reading hundreds if not thousands of them I started writing for my own enjoyment. Recently my granddaughters have started reading my books and have encouraged me to get published. This summer will mark fifty years of marriage to my husband. Fifty wonderful years of laughter and puns have left their mark on me. There have been tears and arguments but mostly they were filled with a love that shines through in my writing. My first published fiction book, A Promise to Keep, was one of the first novels I wrote and is an enjoyable romp set in the Mackinac area of Michigan. I did have a non-fiction book published by Standard Publishing back in the late 80''s, early 90''s, and several of my poems have been published. I enjoy putting together a monthly newsletter for my church, as well as reading, music, camping and most of all, being with my family. I have a website (BAM Romance) that my son and granddaughter has set up for me.

    av Elisha Perez

We have all wanted to except life for what it was, But God''s plan is so much bigger and better than our circumstances. His plan is good and the blessings He gives comes without sorrow. Happiness is a choice given to us daily, what will you choose today? Will you choose to be stagnated in your current life''s situation? Just accept where you are in life? Or will you choose to ride out the storm with peace in your heart knowing the one who controls all things is making it all work out for your good and for your God given purpose. In this book I am given you encouraging scriptures, by the followers before us and what they endured, along with my testimonies. By the grace and mercy of God we all can persevere. Life is full of obstacles it is by faith through Christ that we push through, to be successful in this walk with Christ you will need to discover the word of God, learn to read it, hear it, and always be able to carry the word of God with you wherever you go. This book will help you understand that God has a purpose for your life and how to achieve the peace that comes while walking with God. ''m Elisha Perez of Lancaster Pa, born in the 80''s when it was cultures norm to practice drug use, and with music and dancing being most individual''s way of coping with their life. My parents were no exception. I was an outsider in my own surroundings, and I never felt completely comfortable anywhere. It was not easy to believe God was my salvation for many years, no matter how much word my grandmother instilled in me as a child. Surprisingly my inspiration came from the Holy Spirit at a time in my life I wanted more, and out of the wilderness Victorious was born.

The first purpose of this book is to promote theism: the belief that one God is the creator and designer of the universe. I give detailed evidence that God has created science and technology. Second is to show God''s hand in the U.S. Coast Guard. For example, the unofficial motto of the Coast Guard ''so others may live'' is based on Jesus'' statement: "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (Matthew 15:13 KJV). Third includes details on twelve different rescues, most by the U.S. Coast Guard. An exception, the December, 1950 rescue of 14,000 South Korean civilians fleeing communist troops. It also includes biographies for the 64 individuals who the Coast Guard fast response cutters are named after. Fourth are four fictional articles that God Almighty has given me to share. The Mordechai Letters were written by a Pharisee present when Jesus visited Jerusalem at the age of 12. Next, proposing a new holiday honoring Secundo Pia, the first man to photograph the Shroud of Turin. Then, the proposal to replace the phonograph records on Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft. Finally, an article about the commitment to Jesus by a well-known actress. I give all credit for this arrangement of words to the Great I Am.

  • - Changing the Inescapable to the Inconceivable
    av Kevin Gephart
    281

We''ve read or seen throughout history the remarkable stories of people being rescued from some form of captivity. By the means of bravery and courage of many have secured the liberty and freedom of those who have been enslaved. As men and women gave their life''s blood to free others in the liberation of Europe, Jesus gave His life''s blood to free all those who would call upon Him in saving faith. RESCUED relates many of these great stories and relates them to our Christian journey. Salvation is just the beginning of how God rescues us from kinds of captivity. RESCUED uses the wisdom and Word of God to liberate and free all those who seek Him for deliverance fear, addictions, defeat, discouragement, and other enslaving attitudes. What we once believed to be the "Inescapable," God turns all those feelings into the security of His "Inconceivable" provision and promise. Only God can take an insurmountable issue we''re experiencing, create a way of rescue for us, and thus take that insurmountable issue, making it an area that now seems so improbable. ONLY God can perfectly RESCUE us and set our feet on solid ground.

  • - The Story of the Rest from 1857 to 2020
    av David Beale
    501

"Christian Fundamentalism in America: The Story of the Rest from 1857 to 2020" is a fascinating account of the Christian Fundamentalist movement in America. The first section unfolds the story of great men and women who were song writers, Christian businessmen, great scholars, and much more, who experienced great Prayer Meeting Revivals, Prophetic Bible Conferences, the first Scofield Reference Bible, the famous 12-volume set, known as The Fundamentals, and finally the World''s Christian Fundamentals Association of 1919. The Grace Brethren story transitions into the turbulent twenties between Fundamentalism and Modernists. For another section, beginning in the 1920s, the author dug far beyond the surface to bring to us the "story of the rest" within the Presbyterian and Baptist denominations struggling between truth and error. The reader will learn what really happened secretly when Des Moines University was shut down by riotous students and everything got out of hand. The reader follows down pathways of well-researched aspects of the fascinating Dr. J. Frank Norris and life trials. In the detailed story of Billy Graham, John R. Rice, Bob Jones Sr., and Bob Jones Jr. the reader will discover how the lines of separation were drawn. Most importantly, however, the author knows without doubt that a true Fundamentalist: (1) believes and defends the whole Bible as the absolute, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God; (2) seeks fully to obey His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and (3) desires to reach out in sacrificial love and compassion to all people. By far, most in this "story of the rest" are godly believers who will bring joy for each of us. David Beale taught courses on Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism for some thirty years at Bob Jones University and Seminary. In 1986, he wrote a book (now out of print) titled In Pursuit of Purity. Our new book, Christian Fundamentalism in America, replaces the old, out-of-date one. He has written several other books, including Historical Theology In-depth (2 vols.); Baptist History in England and America; A Pictorial History of Our English Bible; and The Mayflower Pilgrims. For teaching History of Fundamentalism, Beale created an enormous set of lectures with photos on PowerPoint. David and his wife Mary enjoy their local church. Since Dr. Beale retired from the classroom in 2010, he has taught and preached in schools and churches. He can be contacted at 2 Plum Orchard Ct. Simpsonville, SC 29681 davidbeale@charter.net

  • - Six Steps for Turning a Privilege Into a Shelter
    av Phidia K Maingi
    281

At 32 years old, Phidia''s husband (her first love and the father of her two children) divorced her to marry their adopted daughter. A deeply disturbing crime...and one without recourse in her native country of Kenya. Furthermore, in a society built to edify men and marginalize women, Phidia was no longer safe. Forced to flee, she was overjoyed to make it to America...but soon realized she had landed in a country afflicted by a different evil: Racism. As much as she did not want to engage in the politics of a foreign land, Phidia''s love for peace would not allow her to stand by in passivity. As a black woman, she felt troubled by the sight of black children walking with apprehension and loneliness because of the "sin" of their skin. She also noted the innocent white children, tormented by the sins of their fathers and others of different races. In every direction, a fierce battle of hate. Overwhelmed but undaunted, Phidia determined to help her children understand their inherent value. This difficult work brought meaningful progress when the documented death of George Floyd hit the world. Her carefully built foundation of love was tested once more. She found herself at a loss: What magic could possibly unite such a divided nation and world? United By Privilege seeks to unify all races to work together to create a Shelter out of privilege. We live in a world of privileges we cannot eliminate-they are ingrained in the fabric of society-but we can maximize privilege to reap the benefits for all, as opposed to the few. Walk with Phidia through an intimate account of life in Kenya, the disintegration of her marriage, and her relocation to the U.S. View the rise of racism in the States, the value of interracial relationships, and the role of racial activism through Phidia''s eyes. Gather perspective about how Privilege can work for the advancement of all. Most importantly, learn how you can contribute to the lasting change this world needs.
