Even though I was raised in church, I was not taught a lot about tithing. I knew my parents tithed, but I didn't really know the reasons. It was not until I was in my 30's, living in Macon, Georgia, that I began to hear about the benefits of tithing. At the same time, I started a new job at a church across town. A big part of my job was to enter the contribution information into the computer system each week.....and I began to notice a pattern. I had "inside information" about those that tithed, those that gave occasionally, and those that did not give. There was a huge difference in the lives, the lifestyles, the attitudes, and the level of faith in the tithers versus the non-tithers! This, along with the teaching I was hearing at the church I attended, began to convince me that I needed to tithe! There were so many areas in my life where I had desired change for years, but it never seemed to happen, until I began tithing consistently! Tithing was the key! Tithing was an outward demonstration of trust. It changed my life. This is the story of my tithing journey. Lyn Johnston Taken was raised in Opp, Alabama and was brought up in a caring home and active church. She left Opp for Troy to attend college, then moved to Montgomery, Alabama, and later to Macon, Georgia, where she met her husband, Don. "If you are over 40, single, and desire to get married, God has not forgotten you! I often felt He had forgotten me! I was 48 when we married!" She says though this book is about tithing, "it is really about so much more. Tithing is key to so many elements in the Christian walk."

"With this new book, Robert Waggoner, a highly respected Christian scholar and writer, has proven again his love for the truth regarding Christianity. His passion is to share the basic elements of the Savior's salvation with the multitudes of the earth. This book, An Introduction to Biblical Christianity, is a product of his years of study, teaching, and preaching the everlasting gospel of the New Testament. We need to read it with thoughtfulness and prayer. It will bring us closer to the truth that God has sent to the world through His Son, Jesus the Christ." - Eddie Cloer, Harding University Professor Emeritus of Bible and Preaching, also Director, Truth for Today - World Mission School. "Dr. Waggoner has packed a lot of information in a relatively small number of pages. I can promise the readers that their knowledge in several biblical and biblical-related areas will increase significantly in spite of the book's size. It is obvious the author loves the Bible and wants to share with others what he has learned through many, many years of studying, preaching and teaching about it. Robert has a unique gift of making An Introduction to Biblical Christianity much more than just an introduction." - Rodney Eugene Cloud. PhD, Chairman of the Turner School of Theology, Amridge University, Montgomey, AL. Dr. Waggoner is a rare gem among those who seek to be biblical in their thinking and in their actions. He is able to be concise with his language while communicating warmth to the reader. I find his book, An Introduction to Biblical Christianity, a welcomed contribution that will help others to understand the way in which the Bible informs and guides their faith. - G. It has been known by many different names including, "The Tale of Bygone Years", "Chronicle of Nestor", as well as other names. The Chronicle covers many centuries and was added to by many different monks. It tells about the founding of Kyiv and the origins of the Ukrainian people. This translation is based on the original Laurentian and Hypatian texts and is intended for the general reader who is interested in learning about the early history of Eastern Europe, in particular Ukraine. This modern English translation of the Chronicles of Kyivan Rus' will give the general reader and the student of Eastern Europe a good understanding of the times in which the two East European countries of Ukraine and Belarus and the Eurasian country of Russia were formed. It was a time of great change and major social upheaval, political, religious and cultural. This new translation of the history of Kyiv will give clarity to some of the misconceptions that are still prevalent in many political and academic circles around the world about Ukraine and Ukrainians. Dan Korolyshyn, born in Austria during the War, came to the States in 1947. Attended Public School in NYC on Manhattan's Lower Eastside. • - Exposition of the Epistle of Romans
    av John H Walker
    180,-

The Epistle of Romans is the theological cornerstone of the New Testament, the greatest of Paul's epistles. Romans focuses on relationships between Jew and Gentile, deals with tensions in this church by showing that Jewish and Gentile Christians require a righteousness that can be obtained only as a gift of God and must be lived out in personal Christian life. RIGHTEOUSNESS IN ROMANS Gospel Righteousness (Rom. 1). The Gospel is about a righteousness which comes from God "by faith." Need for Righteousness (Rom. 2-3). The Jew with the Law and the Gentile without it have sinned and desperately need a righteousness neither possesses. Righteousness and Faith (Rom. 3-4). God always accepts faith in place of the righteousness human beings do not possess. Jesus' sacrifice of Himself makes this possible and is the basis for the forgiveness freely offered to Old and New Testament saints. Righteousness realized (Rom. 6-8). Faith unites the believer with Jesus in His life and His death. The Holy Spirit within gives us the power to live righteously here and now if we live by faith. Righteousness in history (Rom. 9-11). God consistently operates on principles imbedded in the Gospel in Old Testament as well as New Testament eras. Righteousness in the faith community (Rom. 12-16). Believers are to live out God's righteousness in relationships within the Christian community. Paul gives a beautiful description of righteousness as God's character finds expression in the way Christians live together in the Lord. Pastor John H. Walker: married to Cynthia, is the father of two daughters, was called to the gospel ministry in October1982; ordained as Minister of Christian Education1990; Assistant Pastor, Faith Memorial Baptist Church, 1986-2014 Educational Preparation: Wayne State University, School of Social Work, -1978, MSW: Dallas Theological Seminary, 2004, MACE degree.

  • - Passing on Stories of Faith
    av Ruth I Christenson
    186,-

How have the lives of people in your past, inspired lives of faith in your family today? Are there stories you share with family and friends, that demonstrate the loving care of God? This book is a collection of memories that my children requested to have put in writing so that they will not forget. I hope you, too, will be prompted to preserve your family's stories, for the benefit of your own children and grandchildren. Included in this book are principles for living lives of faith, and some parenting suggestions that come from multiple sources. These were also requested by my adult kids. Several are now parents themselves. They find themselves using phrases they remember from our home. Now they want some explanation of their origins and application. I have tried to honor the memory and examples of those who lived before us. This book is also meant to challenge this generation to intentionally invest in the spiritual lives of their children, in order to raise the next generation who will know and live for God. These spiritual investments will become the legacy of faith God asks us to leave. Psalm 145:4 says, "One generation will praise Your works to another, and will declare Your mighty acts." May our faith stories collectively bring much glory to God. Ruth Christenson is a pastor's wife and mother of seven children. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where she lived until she graduated college. Ruth spent 27 years as a homeschool mom. She has frequently been asked to share principles of discipleship and parenting to help other parents lead their children to know and love God. Ruth manages a Book and Gift Store at a Christian Conference Center. When free to travel, she loves to spend time with her kids and grandchildren.

Never did I once see what God wanted for me until the third and final time God saved my life. But one thing I can tell you is that my life was not the average man's life. I can tell you that if it had not been for A God of Mercy and Grace, being in my life, I would not be here today telling my story to the world. So to anyone out there who reads this book and feels like no one loves or cares about me. And he or she is an outcast or thinks, "why am I here on this Earth." just know that it took me 38 years to find out what my purpose was. Listen, we are all here for God's purpose and not our own. And that nothing i mean absolutely nothing happens in God's World by mistake. But most of all we have a right to be here. So to those of you who still believe that there is not a God, why am I here. Man could not do it, Scientist could not do it, But God could and would if he was sought. I am a Man of God; I have 4 grown children and eight wonderful grandchildren; I am engaged to a wonderful woman of God I am an advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous; I am also a Chess player and instructor. I have also taken a couple of classes, a speech class and a psychology class. I also have gotten my associates in social work from Kennedy King's College. I have also done some public speaking, my psychology classes have enhanced my outlook on humanity. Today I pray and read my Word daily, I now understand my God given purpose, and to hopefully help someone and to change lives.

Julius Caesar has come and gone. The statues of Alexander can be seen in the neglected corners of ancient museums. Napoleon is sleeping on the tattered pages of history books. The embalmed corpses of Mao and Lenin are still preserved in their respective mausoleums as a testimony to the millions of souls massacred during communist insurrections. St. Joseph, the simple carpenter from Judea, lives on as a beacon of hope even in this post-COVID madness called "The New Normal." Beauty lies dormant, marinated with faith and hope, in the simple elegance of family life. That is the silent message of Joseph amidst the dictatorship of unhinged noise. It is my hope that St. Joseph would guide us during the bleakest nights infested with nightmares, and take us to Jesus, our eternal anchor. I created this rhapsody for Joseph when my pen hit the papyrus over a period of five years. It is my hope that this "widow's mite" may be a pleasing offering to St. Joseph in the cosmic coffers of endless time. With this thought in mind, I place my pen at the feet of St. Joseph in the year of Our Lord 2021, which the Pope has declared as the year of St. Joseph.

  • - God behind the seen in the book of Ruth

The Romance of Redemption is a love story about how God turns tragedy into triumph. Set in the brief Old Testament book of Ruth, it is an inspiring account of how God is actively working behind the scenes to accomplish His designs and purposes. The human love story between Ruth and Boaz is but a picture of a greater love story between God and His people. It leaves us with great confidence that if God would go to such lengths to fulfill His purposes in the past, we can certainly trust Him with our future. Tommy Vinson pastored churches for forty-seven years in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Florida before retiring from the active pastorate. He then formed Tommy Vinson Ministries, a nonprofit ministry focusing on international pastor training and support. Covid-19 has largely interrupted TVM's six years of ministry; but it remains active to a limited degree and will resume full operation once the pandemic is over. For the past three years he has served as interim preacher for several Memphis-area churches including Kirby Woods Baptist, Hernando Baptist, The Point in Hernando, and Germantown Baptist.

  • - It's Never Too Late (And They're Never Too Old) To Reach Your Children with the Gospel!
    av Ej Richards

I was sitting in church one Sunday, reflecting on statements that were spoken by the pastor about his life and his walk with God. In telling of his relationship with the Lord, it was clear that he had been blessed with knowing Jesus most of his life. He raised two sons in the church; they''ve started lives of their own and have blessed the pastor with grandchildren. I was struck by the contrast between his life and the lives of those of us who did not have that experience. In fact, some of us have traveled roads that greatly deviate from the path of this pastor. I write this book for all the Prodigal Parents and their children. Many parents have squandered opportunities, and it is only later in life that we realize the most important things we could have taught our children. The world is filled with men and women who would love to have the opportunity to do it over again regarding how they communicated Christ-if they even communicated Christ to their children. The book goes straight to what is important. It emphasizes the urgency of knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and makes no apologies for imploring the reader to know Jesus. Why wouldn''t the book take that path? As one who once was blind but now can see, it only makes sense that a parent who has now been enlightened would tirelessly and ceaselessly communicate the goodness of God, the need of the Savior, and the way of salvation. "It is never too late!" The Prodigal Parent will help many adult Christians tell their sons and daughters (and grandchildren, nieces, and nephews) what they wish they would have said when the children were still under their roofs. In some cases, parents may still have that opportunity.

What is faith? It is a question that some wonder and many find hard to verbalize into a clear definition. However, believing what you can''t see is the catalyst for trusting in God and agreeing with His will for your life. Author Karman Coffee takes a closer look into faith through the new book, On the Other Side of Faith: Where Faith Meets Stupidity, which shows what faith is and what faith is not. Desiring for readers to plant for their faith harvests, Karman offers straightforward thoughts on faith, God in the midst of trials, being thankful for blessings and the importance of spending time with Jesus. Faith requires waiting on God''s direction and practicing obedience to God, even when enduring difficult circumstances. As we find hope in Jesus Christ, our faith will be freed from deception and we will feel God''s spiritual guidance to build substantial, lasting faith.
