Om Gonarthrosis
Our study explores the quality of life (QoL) of patients with gonarthrosis, a global public health issue. Based on a quantitative approach and using the AMIQUAL scale, it involved 82 patients from the rheumatology department at the CHU Hédi Chaker in Sfax. The results show an average age of 60 years, an urban majority (72%), and a duration of evolution of [1-10[years for most (60.9%). The dimensions most affected were physical activities (61% with severe impairment), pain (73.2% with severe impairment), and social activities (54.9% with severe impairment). Factors influencing HRQOL included gender, age, geographic origin, BMI, duration of progression, site and type of gonarthrosis, knee deformity, and stage according to the Kellgren and Lawrence classification. The discussion highlights the significant impact of gonarthrosis on QOL, and proposes recommendations such as raising nurses' awareness and regularly informing patients about the importance of physical activity to improve QOL and prevent muscle atrophy.
