Offering a multidiciplinary approach to understanding functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, this work provides a survey of esophageal, gastric, and colonic diseases known to have a strong behavioral component. It details the technologies used to assess these disorders from both a gastroenterologic and a psychologic perspective.
