Om I Feel Disgusted When You Don't Blow Your Nose
I FEEL...WHEN... book series is the first of three Pre-Primers in the Reading with Feeling Program. It provides an easy transition from reading pictures to reading printed language.
It is hard to tell someone they need to blow their nose. You don't want to hurt their feelings. Yet you also want them to know why you might not want to do things with them. This book acts out a scenario typical for children who have runny noses. They explore the importance of dealing with feelings through nonviolent communication to cope with experiences in our every day lives. This is the first book in a series of 24 'I Feel When' Books that explore Love, Frustration, Calmness, Loneliness, impression, joy, Interest, Guilt, Hope, Pride, Amusement, Inspiration, Failure, Anxiety, Boredom, Disgust, Jealousy, Blues, Fear, Sadness, Anger, Overwhelm, Resentment, Excitement. Each of the books in this series is accompanied with two videos about the making of the book and an expert opinion of a counselor, and mediation specialist who has worked with children in schools to peacefully communicate their feelings with one another in respectful ways that builds self-esteem among children.
Each of the twenty-four stories has a plot that moves to a satisfying conclusion, and in each of the stories the characters talk about their feelings. They combine with the Emotatude' picture book series that examines how we vibrationally feel inside, and the Emotion Mandala picture book and coloring book. The printed conversation is always placed nearest the person talking. Reading the printed conversation to find out what the characters say is almost as easy as reading the pictures to find out what they do and how they feel. With this book the student sees and thinks about the feelings in the conversation as an important part of the total action of the story. The readers will also be available in Spanish and French Bilingual versions for new language learners.
