Ishtar and Tammuz

The Green One, Tammuz, is sent to reside on the ground below by his mother, Ishtar, the Babylonian deity of all creation. She, however, becomes so envious of how much love he receives that she has him murdered. For the return of the green spirit, the people pray to their goddess.
