Om It's Me
July 28, 1926, in the city of Council Bluffs on the shore of the Missouri River, the author's life begins its journey through the Depression, into prosperity and family, to volunteer work and serving others. He finished writing It's Me, One Lucky Guy, then turned the manuscript over to his publisher. The next day his house burned down along with 1000's of others in California's Camp Fire in Paradise. He evacuated to his son's house which was struck by a flash flood a couple days later. He returned when the ground dried and added a final chapter. Still smiling, Jim Ratekin's autobiography leaves the reader with an appreciation for a man who always tries his best.
