Let's Draw the World

Om Let's Draw the World

Let's learn how to draw with this fun book packed with facts, fun trivia, as well as some of Australia's most interesting landmarks and cultural sites. Inside this book you will find images of places such as Uluru, Sydney Opera House, Ballarat, Esperance Stonehenge, Three Sisters, Great Barrier Reef, and many more. Your child is also given the opportunity to draw their own beautiful artistic rendition of the landmark or monument that they see. Created with the principles of child development, as well as traditional art techniques, this book is intended to supercharge your child's interest in Geography while also helping them develop art skills that will benefit them should they choose to pursue art as a career. At around the age of 5 or 6, a child begins to become aware of the baseline to organise objects in space. No longer are objects floating all over the page, but they begin to realise that objects have different sizes as well as having a definite place on the ground. Although their ability to draw complex images is still in its infancy, this age is a perfect time to encourage a love of drawing as they are always keen to draw - often placing themselves in the middle of the image to make it more meaningful to them. Your little one is also now learning simple geometrical shapes, so encourage them to look out for the shapes within the images within. Circles, squares, triangles, rectangles. Feel free to draw these shapes over the original images to help them to begin to see the beauty of geometry in nature! There is so much beauty in the world around us, and we sincerely hope that this book opens your mind up to the rich cultural and geographical beauty of our wonderful world. While of course creating a keen confident junior artist! Enjoy!
