John "Jock" Dempsey is a former Undercover Cop, now Detective. Jock's reputation has his peers offside. Corrupt. Quiet. Independent. Jock prefers to work alone, untrusting to those around him, he carries a dark past, and an unpredictable future as his superiors within the police force are determined to end his career. Blair Chapman is young, inexperienced and new to the Homicide Squad. He is given the difficult task of being paired with Jock Dempsey. In the midst of a cold winter snap in Melbourne, a series of female disappearances provide clues which link to Jock's past and a pattern of similar disappearances which occurred more than a decade ago. As Blair and Jock begin to track down the culprit, the investigation begins to dredge up echoes of Jock's dark past, uncovering disturbing secrets that could threaten more than just the women they are out to protect.
