When young Maud found a little creature in the grass with brilliant green skin and beautiful eyes, she immediately fell in love.
She didn't find out it was a baby wyvern - a kind of dragon - until her parents insisted they kill it on the spot.
But for good or ill, Maud lied to her parents and took her new pet to a secret place in the woods where she could raise it.
