From the delights of newly-born lambs, through the beauty of an antique bottle, to the pain of loneliness, the small things in life give rich ground for poetry. Minutiae is a collection inspired by the hidden gems and the tiny jewels that reflect light in our lives.
Kirsten Johnston is a poet from regional South Australia. She writes to give the small moments of life a voice-to capture fleeting instances and impressions and bring to light the tiny joys, anomalies and beauties that are often missed. The other half of Kirsten's creative life is her work as a visual artist in which she paints large-scale abstract pieces for exhibition and sale, often inspired, like her poetry, by small treasures within our existence.
