Written by actual Toyota team members, each story within the book shares how Toyota 's presence in Georgetown, Kentucky has transformed the professional and personal lives of those who worked for the company. The stories give the readers a first-hand look at the Toyota production system and the principles that have transformed the company into the top automobile manufacturer in the world. Most of the contributors are hourly-level employees. Several chapters are written by management-level Toyota employees. The book also has chapters that address the past economic crisis and the recalls Toyota has faced over the past year.
