Om Puppy Do
A children's book about puppies and their antics using opposites. Understanding the concept of opposites is important as it helps a child to learn how to compare two different things and to develop a more concrete understanding of a specific concept (e.g. hard vs soft). Learning opposites also improves a child's ability to describe things.
Puppy Do is a fun book for toddlers and preschoolers who are beginning to form early sentences. By 24 months, toddlers generally have begun combining two words together, for example, "Mommy car" or "more milk". Although, these are not quite sentences, they are a big step because they involve connecting and expressing two ideas together. An even bigger step occurs around 30 months when the two words that they choose to combine are a noun and a verb. This forms a simple sentence and we then know that the child is firmly on the road to building sentences and communicating about their world!
Puppy Do is filled with simple sentences that your child can understand and have fun repeating. Simple sentences are a big accomplishment and another milestone to be celebrated!
