Stephen Collins Foster (1826-1864) was an American composer and probably the best-known songwriter of the time. Many of his compositions - above all: Camptown Races, Oh Susanna, Swanee River and Beautiful Dreamer - are still known today and are an integral part of the US-American culture. Each tone of the melodie is shown with fingering images for the recorder, these are placed under the classical music notation. The sounds of the songs are available online in a sound player with adjustable playback speed.
