Young Jade Cooper has only one goal in her mind: escape. Threatened with terrible things she knows not to explore, Jade is on the run from a facility only known to her as the Lab. In her escape, Jade unexpectedly crosses paths with Bennett Hayes. The man seems kind and gentle, so when he shows confusion and concern for her safety, Jade accepts his help. Bennett decides to take her back to his home where his husband Lewis waits for him.
The trio live in peace for just 24 hours before armored trucks barrel down the secluded road to surround the Hayes' cabin.
Before long, the married couple and Jade must fight tooth and nail to survive against a corporation that wants nothing more than to see them dead - and their own inner turmoil as the mental effects of their pasts spill into reality.
In Selcouth, readers find a sense of comfort and togetherness through the characters and their struggles. Jade, Bennett, and Lewis are relatable protagonists forced to make difficult decisions - and when readers finish the book, author T.J. Walker hopes they feel a little less alone in the world.
