At a very young age, Tonya is forced to find strength within herself to survive brutal childhood trauma while facing heart-shattering circumstances.

Moving from one foster home to the next, she learns to navigate the terrain of a broken foster care system. She finds solace in playing sports, fueling her with resilience and compelling her to persevere.

After aging out of foster care, Tonya is thrust into a world of challenges and confronted by shallow judgments and doubts. With unwavering tenacity, she fights against the odds to gain custody of her beloved daughter.

Her struggles and difficult past inspire her to mentor youth through coaching softball and become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), using her past experiences to help children through similar hardships.
