In this rough saga of psychological horrors and wild circumstance, several people find themselves out of place in this natural world of manners and concrete. In a course to finally belong, Sylvia struggles to see what's so great about loving the reality of jobs and friends, ultimately casting a too-big stone a little too hard, creating a dent too deep to buff out.
Derek finds himself lulled in the throes of post-school life. Rinse and repeat. Unsatisfied, he seeks to understand something beyond himself. In doing so, he discovers that those along the same path have rigged it from the beginning. A psychological battle of desire decorates the ground in lovely colors, while something else is going on in this small town of Looper.
