Om Tamil Wisdom; Traditions Concerning Hindu Sages, and Selections from their writings
Tamil Wisdom; Traditions Concerning Hindu Sages, and Selections from their writings by Edward Jewitt Robinson first published in 1873. THIS little volume of Heathen morals and learning affords an additional illustration of the truth of the Apostle's words that "the world by wisdom knew not God." Some of the sayings which are here rendered into English are probably as old as the earliest writings of the Old Testament. We have no evidence that the art of writing was practiced before the Deluge; but it is demonstrated that in many lands it was commenced very soon after that event. The earliest records we have are those of Egypt. These were known to Moses, who was "learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians."
