Only one dream exists for Ronnie Gold.
She has been the only survivor of a gory battlefield for the past two years, and every night, flickering pictures of it have haunted her sleep. She has never revealed this to anyone because doing so would make her appear dangerous in addition to her dissociative emotional illness, which prevents her from experiencing empathy.
Yet as public unrest over the artificial intelligence project Ronnie is leading grows, so does the influence of her dreams on her daytime activities. Before the deadliest nightmare materialises, Ronnie must sort through the hazy boundaries of reality as the images begin to take on a foreboding, almost prophetic character.
