The Café on Main Street

As the financial crisis looms, John Mitchell goes to work each day, unaware of how the schemes of Wall Street will soon upend his life on Main Street. John's been working in construction his entire life outside of Detroit, a city whose economy has suffered the roller coaster effects of globalization. He and his wife Susan have worked hard to give their children, Trevor and Amanda, a nice life. One day, John gets called in by his boss. He's fired. He's devastated. Especially after learning that the greed of Wall Street ultimately led to the layoffs at his company. He searches desperately for anyone who will hire him. As the economy craters, employment prospects disappear along with his dignity. He meets an attractive young woman at a local bar. His marriage is tested. His faith all but disappears. To add insult to injury, his daughter is sleeping with a man at Pierpont Bank, the very same bank foreclosing on his house! The one percenters at Pierpont are living their narcissistic lives. Will John and Susan's marriage survive? Can they save their home and their family? They learn how people behave during their time of need. John is surprised by who comes to his rescue.
