In December of 1914 the Great War had progressed into its first winter. Unexpectedly, a series of events led to an unofficial armistice between the Allied and German forces for several weeks. The threat of peace breaking out proved intolerable to those in charge. The Christmas Truce tells this remarkable story through the eyes of a private in the Scottish army.
