The Colosseum

Welcome to the Colosseum! A GameLit, Near Future, Sci-fi Series. It's 2060 and the ten highest ranked Evolution players from around the world are invited to the Colosseum: to take their chance at competing against the best, earn a living playing the game they love, and have free room and board in Las Vegas's newest hotel. If they lose, they go home. Cypher, a gamer who has reached fame through victory in the Colosseum, is humbled by an unfortunate diagnosis. Afraid the show will go on without him, he enters the trials to become a trainer within the Colosseum. Cypher will have to overcome his self-serving tendencies and put the invited competitors above himself. He'll have to make his student's problems, his own. Ken, enraged at Cypher taking what he feels should have been his, is sent on the opposite path: a path of destruction, a path of revenge. He hates the game developers, and most of all, he hates Cypher. After pushing his body to its limit, he uses his new found power to target Cypher's students. He plans to use the virtual battle arena to obliterate each student, live, in front of millions, erasing Cypher's legacy. Can Cypher hold it together? Can he work with his new prospects and prepare them for one of the Colosseum's biggest threats? Does he have enough wisdom and connections to help those who have been fated to him?
