FOREIGN ACCLAIM SOUND OF BLOOD
"I really enjoyed this book with all the twists the author must have a fantastic imagination to come up with some of the methods used by Garza & Keitel. I would definitely read more of his books." (Great Britain)
THE CAPRIATI CONSPIRACY
As some reviewer pointed out, this is a shade like a Chandler tale only the PI is a touch more soft-boiled than Marlowe. Certainly, no worse for that. A good read and a well-formed piece of escapism. The light-hearted asides entertain without becoming irksome as sometimes happens when it's overdone. Alton Rhode is an easy man to pass a little time with. This is not great literature but perfect if you've got to wait at an airport or head out on a long flight. (Great Britain)
SUDDEN KILL
A great book, exciting from beginning to end with an interesting twist that you don't expect when you start reading it. Totally recommended. (Great Britain) AND FROM A RECENT DE MARIA STANDALONE NOVEL ALAS, PARIS (English Edition)
I have read many of De Maria's books, and find them unfailingly entertaining. This book, which I approached with quite a bit of skepticism, also entertained, as it slowly drew me in. While I initially found the story line improbable, De Maria always adds enough fact with fiction, to force a suspension of disbelief, and takes you along for the ride. Engaging dialogue, venues with enough descriptive detail to interest experienced travelers, scenes played out with gastronomic expertise, all while partnering with attractive and attentive characters of both sexes. (Stories perfect for a Netflix series.) And finally, for me, the writing in Chapter 14 was perfection. (Germany)
