He is a former college president, corporate and foundation Chief Executive Office and independent business owner. Jim's doctorate from Western Michigan University, MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, and certification from Harvard University Institute for the Management of Lifelong Education provide the educational framework for his recognition as an expert in the field of communication. Jim Haviland's pioneering work in the dynamics of organizational communication is widely recognized. He received the International Platform Association speaker's competition award as a result of his research and presentation of his findings.
