Om The Mahabharatha
Traditionally attributed to author Vyasa, the Mahabharata is the longest Indian epic, which is of immense cultural importance to Indians. The story revolves around Dhritharashtra's hundred sons, the Kauravas, and the five virtuous sons of King Pandu, the Pandavas, and their struggle for the throne of Hastinapura, the kingdom ruled by the Kuru clan. The struggle culminates in the great Kurukshetra War, in which the Pandavas ultimately emerge victorious.Besides being philosophical and religious, the epic unfolds the complexity of human relationships and teaches youngsters several lessons in life. Whether it is an abridged version or the epic itself, it is a must-read for one and all, and a must-keep for one's own personal library.
