The Partition of Africa

In the latter part of the nineteenth century, European powers embarked on determined expansion into Africa. The geographer John Scott Keltie (1840-1927) wrote of the 'scramble' at the time, publishing in 1893 this authoritative work on the subject, here reissued in its revised and augmented second edition of 1895.
