The Press Cartoon

Caricature existed long before the newspaper and even journalism were born. Throughout this essay a complex but entertaining visual and ontological construct was assembled from which it is possible to walk through all the reciprocal themes between the history of social communication and the evolution of the language and formats of the caricature: its past, eternal and always distant and indecipherable in its communicative intention; its present, a daily event in the opinion section of online newspapers and in the public showcase of social networks; and its future, with the transition to digital format, structured by different concentrations of pixels, depending on the screen that houses it, by the click of a button, the "graphic joke" has been transfigured into an "animated journalistic cartoon", or "animated graphic editorial joke".
