The Wild Rover

When, at the age of 46, Denis Shirley suddenly finds himself out of a job, he decides to turn a minor problem into a major opportunity by realising the dream of a lifetime. He sets off, in an old Land Rover, to visit all the remote parts of Southern Africa to spend some quiet time with the continent's wild animals and to learn a little about their way of life. Just before departing on this odyssey, however, things take an interesting turn... A humorous and informative stroll through the fascinating - and often frightening - ways of the African wild. And a lament for its fast-disappearing wildlife.
