Ultrafine Particles Monitoring and Early Detection of Emergency

Om Ultrafine Particles Monitoring and Early Detection of Emergency

The book describes a cycle of works in which is proposed and experimentally justified a new development - the system of Early Detection of Emergency Conditions (EDEC system), which is based on aerosol monitoring and uses the principle of single particles registration. The ability to detect emergency situations of different nature stems from the fact that almost any significant change in the mode of operation of installations or equipment, mechanical damage, violation of technological process and other emergencies are accompanied by a generation of aerosols, and the registration of these changes at a very early stage, often before the appearance of any visual evidence of the process, makes it possible not only to record the fact of an emergency, but to prevent it. The EDEC system is proposed to be used for early detection of leaks and defects of steam pipelines, for control of electrical equipment, control of the efficiency of air filters (including at nuclear power plants), control of mechanical properties of metals, explosive risk of coals, detection of defects in critical building structures like foundations, dams, etc., control of seismic activity.
