Waiting for the Worms

Aloysius Leigh has been shot, burned alive, drowned, tortured, and sent through a wormhole that punched through realities. Escaping an alternate Earth ravaged by an alien infestation when his ride is busted won't be as easy. Leigh and his artificial intelligence, Daphne, crash land in an alternate Portland where a rogue comet in 1945 brought a hostile alien species to Earth that wiped out two-thirds of all terrestrial life. Unable to access the Lens, the field that allows Leigh to channel, focus and redirect energy, they are trapped unless they can discover what is interfering with the nanotechnology bound to his body and mind. What they find is a hidden society of human-alien symbiotes plotting to finish the infestation they started in 1945, and only a powerless Leigh stands in their way. Humans are the safest place to hide.
