Because all records of the WASP's efforts were classified and sealed for 35 years, many in this country are unaware of their work as military pilots during WWII. These women were pioneers and the expertise they demonstrated in successfully flying every type of military aircraft, from the fastest fighters to the heaviest bombers, blazed a trail for women of future generations.
