We Like to Watch gets its title from a Time magazine cover story on reality television and Americans¿ "passion for peeping". This book takes sociological theories of race and applies them to the study of surveillance in a style and format that can be easily adopted as a required text for undergraduate courses on Surveillance, New Media, Cultural Studies, Race and Ethnicity, American Studies, and Women and Gender Studies.
