Acromegaly

Acromegaly is a rare but serious medical condition caused by the excessive secretion of growth hormone (GH) by the pituitary gland. GH is a hormone that plays a critical role in normal growth and development during childhood, but in adults, it helps maintain normal metabolism and body composition. Excessive secretion of GH in adulthood can lead to a wide range of physical and physiological changes, collectively known as acromegaly.
