Om Alice '65
A romantic comedy about an English lad, an American lass, a rare book worth millions, and a lonely guard panther...not your typical day in LA. After his father died in a mugging, Adam Verlain used his love of books to hide from the world as a rare book cataloguer for a small university in London. But then that university acquired a newly discovered 1865 edition of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and wanted him to fly to Los Angeles to pick it up. Adam hated even the thought of leaving his careful, cloistered world and only agreed to go when pressured...and told the book would be brought to him at the airport so he could return home on the very next flight. However, things began going wrong from the first moment...and then he met Casey Blanchard, the amazingly beautiful movie star who inherited the book. But she won't let him have it unless he first accompanies her to a premier of her latest film for reasons that seem...well, quite odd. Adam has to agree, because if he does not get the book, he'll lose a job he loves...even as his world crashes into a chaotic mix of a too-cool henna artist, her demon toddler, her fan-boy husband, a protective mother, a drill-sergeant stylist, very questionable edibles, two mistaken identities, hysterical fans, Hollywood royalty, their courtiers and minions, maniacal LA drivers, an outlandish party, a drowning pool in the middle of Beverly Hills, a love-struck panther on a homemade veldt, 50 cans of salmon, a bubble bath...and the terrifying realization he's falling in love with a woman every man in the world desires and whom he knows he cannot trust...and could never love him back. Or could she?
