Jonah and Nahum

An exposition of two related Bible prophecies, Jonah and Nahum.
Jonah's ministry foreshadowed the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. His ministry was to preach to the Ninevites, and their repentance foreshadowed the ultimate incorporation of the Gentiles into the purpose of God.

The prophecy of Nahum illustrates how that the repentance of the Ninevites did not last, and the the destruction of Nineveh was foretold in the Bible. This prophecy has been accurately fulfilled, and this is a powerful proof that the Bible is the word of God. The downfall of Nineveh is seen as foreshadowing the future destruction of the kingdom of men prior to the establishment of the God's Kingdom on earth.
